Don't we all agree that all of these teams are just competing for second place any way ? I mean, until they're dethroned, the RING is already on the finger of SS and his Dawg pound.

They could go with Carthage and Center like last time.
They won't go that far north in this next alignment. With HJ and Liberty possibly opting up to 4aD1, there will be plenty of room for "others".

You guys sure do jump off the bandwagon quickly. Smalley has done a wonderful job with that program there.

3 way tie for second. BH gets 2nd based on point differential.
Thanks for the information. Huge difference playing McKinney North rather than Longview.

Somebody told me BH was 4th after the loss to Porter. Not true ?

Well, even after 28 personal fouls, Liberty still pulls away with a win.
Great win to end the season Panthers.

That could happen too. Buna has beaten Tarkington once early in the season, but I've seen Buna lose to opponents not nearly as good as them. All depends on what Buna team shows up.
Looks like you were right. Buna moves on

Coldspring beat Diboll last year and did not make the playoffs.
Welp, there's the answer.
I just didn't think it was a common occurrence, but this proves my theory wrong. Ha!

It’s not that strange. Playoffs are determined by win total. Unless Anahuac was one win away from playoff contention and Kirbyville one loss away from elimination, the outcome of one game wouldn’t affect the status quo. For example, PNG is playing Galena Park tonight. Galena Park is out of the playoffs whether they beat PNG or not, and PNG is in the playoffs, win or lose tonight. PnG also has at least a share of the district championship, win or lose. So, if Galena Park wins tonight, PNG still goes to the playoffs and Galena Park doesn’t.
I think I should have simply asked, when was the last time a 'non-playoff team" defeated a district champion, in southeast texas?

Anahuac defeated Kirbyville.
Anahuac did not make the playoffs.
Kirbyville won this district championship.
When was the last time this happened in any district in southeast Texas. I'm sure its happened but I can't think of a scenario where it has.

Buna is really good man. I think they could win on any given night when at their best.
I have Tarkington knocking out Buna tonight.

In the battle of 5th and 6th, in one of the toughest districts in all of 4A DII - who you got ?

Los Compadres won't disappoint. Everyone is a "champion" in there, according to the manager. Ha!
I order the Queso Flameado and it's usually on point. And they have some good beer on tap as well.

I might get some heat for this but I got buna beating central heights to go to the regional tournament 🤷🏽♂️
This will not happen.

Mike, where does this put Livingston now in your opinion ?
I can't remember the cutoff from D2 to D1, in 4a.

Hope my bobcats can pull this one off. 3rd place in district is up for grabs. No one wants the 4th place spot. 😬 Any thoughts?
Where is this game being played? I think Evadale wins this game but I've been wrong before.

I agree. The hype they put on the kid was detrimental. I urged them to slow down and give him some time to develop, but some did not appreciate it. I happened to be outside the upper level suites at AT&T last year. Todd Dodge and a few friends left their suite to go to the elevators. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a young man and his mother hurriedly walking up to catch Todd Dodge before the elevators opened. Mom introduced her son to TD, and enthusiastically told TD about all the great things the son was about to do. TD was very polite and listened, and wished them well. At that moment I felt that a bar was being set too high for a Freshman from a 3A school in a weak district. As I said before, it seemed unfair to him. JMO, that's all.

The loss of last year's QB is clearly hurting Anahuac.
Didn't Anahuac lose a solid RB and college caliber WR as well ? And can somebody answer my question about if Buna defeats Hardin, that Anahuac is eliminated from playoffs? I had heard this but wasn't sure if that was accurate or not?
-
I can see Silsbee running away with this game late. Lets say tight for a half, but then the Tigers roll in the second half to a comfortable 17 point victory.
-
I think Kirbyville wins this game, but I would not be surprised to see OF come away with the victory.
Do I understand correctly that if Buna beats Hardin, Anahuac is eliminated from the playoffs?
Didn't most of us have Anahuac winning this district before the season began? Yikes

What about that time EC had a couple runs in 'em ? I know it dont happen often, but it wasn't long ago they were knocked off in OT by the champ, right? I'm a bit old, so don't judge the memory or lack thereof.
