1. A little added motivation is that fact that whoever loses this game gets Coldspring in the first round.

Take off the "homer goggles" and jump into a big boy conversation where you can at least be rational. Regardless if you want to admit it or not BC has a good team and WOS knows it as well. All of the WOS coaches I have spoken with give BC their respect and I know BC does the same towards WOS, they are the standard by which most teams judge their season. This game has been circled on the calendar for both sides and it has the potential to live up to the hype. It also has the potential to be a blowout, remember these are high school kids and anything can happen. If you feel like having a grown up conversation about the game I look forward to your opinion. If you want to continue the over the top banter by an alumni with blinders on have at it ;D. Again I hope the game is competitive and injury free, good luck to both sides.
You are the one that needs to take off the "Homer Glasses". While I do think BC is good this year but not at the level WOS is yet. I appauld you supporting your team as you should but lets be real here. WOS will win this game. This will be the first week I pick against BC. Nothing personal. When it comes to the setxsports pickems it is all about competition plain and simple. ;D ;D
I sure hope you are right, Bleed!
 3. 15-23-1  224yds... GREAT JOB!!! Enough said...
 4. BC Juniors did beat the WOS Juniors in 7th and 8th grades. However, they were close games and you also have to factor in that there are also Seniors and Sophomores on the field whom BC did not beat so that really isn't a factor. All that being said, Menard is a hoss and I know this will be a tough game. Should be interesting. Someone stole my line earlier so I will say it again, it's going to come down to the matchups... ;)
and people said the same things about silsbee... BC won and some people didn't think it was possible. what makes this game any different?
We're not Silsbee. We're West Orange-Stark.
and we are Bridge City.
EXACTLY!
Hook, line, sinker... LMFAO!!!
 6. Something told me at halftime that those Cats weren't ready to toss in the towel and they didn't disappoint. OF may not always be the most talented team you play, but they sure as heck ain't gonna quit fighting, ever.
 7.
Kirbyville can hold thier own against most schools, lotta respect for them.
Yes they can.
 8.
Hf mustered only 19 yards total offense against wos??
The Orange Leader had them at -2 yards!

 10. who did Silsbee 9th lose to? Jasper?
 11. 90% homer thread...
 12. That is freakin hilarious WBG...

Don't think no team can stop their running game.
I know that you had a back that impressed us WO-S people..he is a hoss.
Actually, I thought the QB and RB were both impressive. Big and physical or thunder and lightening. ;) Gonna have to figure out a way to slow them down next year... ;D
 14. ...and the kid had an incomplete because he had an assignment that he needed to turn in. The kid turned in the assignment, but before the teacher could change it to a passing grade, we had an evacuation due to a hurricane. When the teacher got back it was past the grade deadline. The kid was passing, but because he had an "I" at the deadline, the UIL ruled that it was not a passing grade and that the kid was ineligible. The UIL has since changed their stance on this.

Young qb salters looked great! And the defense was outstanding...i left after 3 and the horns didn't have any first downs, did they get one? And does anyone have the stats?
it's easy to be firing on all cylinders when the team you're against isn't on a level playing field. thats just how it is vs HF the past couple years.
I beg to differ. It's not as easy. In fact, its very hard to stay focused. A superior team can go out and "play soft" against weaker opponents and keep the weaker team in the game. Thereby giving the weaker team the audacity to think they can play on the same field as the superior team. It happens all the time in sports. It takes a lot of mental toughness to go out and pounce weaker teams. I give WO-S all the credit for remaining focused and keeping track on their goals.
so you're saying WOS was trying in that game? they were trying plays they aren't sure would work with their personnel thats about it. if the competition isn't there then it just isn't there... hats off to HF for showing up, but i find it humorous that every year when WOS blows out the lesser teams in district and say "oh now they are back and ready to make it far in the playoffs!" you cant compare these type games.
Ummm... The Riot didn't say a thing about making long playoff runs... in fact, no one said anything like what you put in parenthesis. The Riot said we were firing on all cylinders. We gave up -2 offensive yards to HF, gave up no points and our offense put out 475 yards of offense with a Sophomore QB playing in his second ever varsity game 3 weeks after replacing his fallen mentor... I'd say that qualifies for hitting on all cylinders! If you don't like the discussion why don't you read another thread?
 16.
It might.  :D If it does who gets the advantage?
I will take the Stangs over a JJ less Silsbee any day, any time!
 17. I think everyone understands that. After all the kids have been through, though. It's good for them to get out and perform well, especially the Soph QB.
 18. This is a sore subject with many people, still. All I will say is that a player was ruled ineligible and it cost us all of our district wins that year.
 19. I think the WOS defense will definitely slow down OF, but I do not think it will be a blow out. I wish the OF kids the best of luck, too. I saw many of them and their cheerleaders at the Reggie Memorial. Class act.
 20. Like some of you have mentioned, the new QB needed work and he needed it against a live opponent, something you can't get at practice. And the foot did come off of the pedal in the 4th qtr. We kicked a field goal on 1st and goal from the 5 and the 2 other late scores were on a fumble return and a punt return. The second string o-line played from the 2nd qtr on and there were several back ups playing on defense... But WOS will never just lay dow and let someone score... ain't never been that way and I hope it never changes.
All I am saying is that a kid from K-Vill, PNG, Newton, EC, that is use to winning might not be able to handel lossing at Lamar.
What an a$$...
 22. WOS 7th "A" - 8 HF 7th "A"- 30 WOS 8th "A"- 28 HF 8th "A"- 14
 23. We will be praying for him. Any new info?
 24. He extended most of Kvilles drives by making big 3rd down throws. I was impressed.
 25.
The WOS QB did an outstanding job under the circumstances. As a matter of fact although he will undoubtably improve next week and in the future plenty of teams would be proud to have him just as he was Saturday.
I agree.
