UGLY...

Skip, the WOS offense from Saturday and the offense in the next few weeks will be two different animals. Hard to go into a game against a team like Kville with a first start for your QB. He will get better every game.

Come on guys, I'm not even from Jasper and knew this group of Seniors for Jasper was not very talented. They won very few games in sub varsity. When you have a group come thru that isn't strong you have to play up younger players which naturally makes for a tough season... Jasper will be fine. They have a strong Freshman group, a pretty good group of 8th graders and 7th graders. They will be back.

Kirbyville was as good as expected. They are the top team in this region in my opinion. I was proud to see our boys take the field again and compete. I agree that the "No call" did not affect the outcome nearly as much as untimely turnovers and a lack of execution during crucial moments did. In the end, this game was about much more than winning or losing. Salter did a good job and got better as the game went along. I would love to see him and the Stangs meet up again with Kirbyville in about 8 weeks.  ;D

He is 5'8" and very quick. He throws the ball pretty good. He completed a few passes in the Jasper game. One for about 30 yds to Roberts, but no ones heart was in that game after the 2nd quarter. He will do well after a week of all the snaps and the offense taylored to his strengths.

Good stuff there. I like the fact that they emphasize that he IS NOT Reggie Garrett. Salter has his own qualities and he will be a good one.

I just can't put into words how proud I am of this community and how much I love to be able to say that I am a part of it. What an awesome thing to hear about that last night. I hope it doesn't stop. Like td said, it would be great to have the same thing, in reverse, for our game against Kirbyville next Saturday. I am a Bear fan now!

Yeah I was wondering if he would be able to get to Silsbee that fast when I read that. The memorial service for Reggie didn't end until 8:30.

That was a great account, Gary. Your description of the crowd and the reaction is very accurate. I was one of the ones sitting, staring at the field. Part was watching the reactions of those poor kids. Part was just staring in disbelief. I think my old self is still sitting in those stands. This has been so hard to shake and its not letting up. I was at the Middle School today at the ceremony they had. Listening to Mrs Domas story and Coach Hallman almost made me come unglued. Thanks to all of those who are putting in the extra time to help these kids cope, understand and deal with something that they really shouldn't have to yet.

Man, it brings tears to my eyes seeing this Golden Triangle Community coming together like this as one. I said before that our Father had to have a purpose for this young man. Maybe we are seeing it now. I would also like to give thanks to everyone who is "taking the reigns" on all of the stuff for Reggie's memory. I would also like to give my long time friend and classmate, td, a personal thank you. For everything you see here that he has done, he has done 3 times as much behind the scene. td, thank you for continuing to take care of this community. It is much appreciated! ;)
