  1. I agree with the first part of your post. You're exactly right it IS on the job training. The problem is that they had so little experience that the learning curve could be forever. I mean, we're still not doing the "101" type of things like containing the edge. Things coaching under an established leader with experience is gained in the short term, not "when they finally figure it out". I think it's sad this program is being destroyed by people with no leadership experience and our program being their "on the job training". The second, I don't agree were not playing Belville because I don't think we beat any of the top three in our district (hope I'm wrong). Our greatest asset at this point is Turner but it looks like we're gonna run him til his tongue drags. He's not gonna make it to those games. Funny, I watched the Texas Longhorns last night shut down the Alabama run game out of the 50 defense... jumping into the 4 man front on obvious passing downs... what a novel thought...🤔 CT was always about stopping the run and controlling the pass. I'm sorry, but you'll never convince me that our players, running a CT trained coach out of the 50, PNG might have scored once. They certainly wouldn't have been able to make a living at it.
  2. Without Turner we don't even win 3... J&J's are the only reason we got that close.
  3. Any livestream going for the game?
  4. The Mustangs are big up front this year.
  5. The Mustangs have had success running it. Itll be interesting to see if we can rely on Turners arm when the run isn't working. I believe he'll have to sling it against PNG. I don't think we're going to see the success on the ground we have the first two and PNG gon score. We won't stop them in our new, normal. PNG won't shoot themselves in the foot the way LCM did.
  6. Yeah, I thought I read that... onside kick up by 1 with 3 minutes to go???? What am I missing here?
  7. Gotcha. Thanks.
  8. Is there a reason you have to wait until the game threads are up to post the live stream link?
  9. As for Ned and the prognostications of doom for this season, all I can say is that I've watched us play them for 40 years. I remember after our game last year thinking that might have been the worst Ned team I'd seen since the 80's and early 90's. I remember thinking last night that your team this year looked more like a Ned team I expect. Take that for what it's worth.
  10. I thought the same thing of Nederlands defense late last night. It looked like they were gassed. WOS big O-line leaning on them the whole 2nd half probably helped that a little.
  11. I was here and watched it... so do i.
  12. That was barely contested. We look like a middle school defensively.
  13. Welcome to the new WOS...
  14. I fixed it for you. This is hard to watch... just like last season... As I watch another TD go by...
  15. Awesome! Thanks guys!
  16. Is Nederland still livestreaming their games? If so, where? TIA
  17. Who is the legend? Rod?
  18. After seeing these first couple scrimmages the three positives I see: 1. I think the QB play will be a strength this yr. Turner seems to have turned the corner. I hope he is as much of a leader on the field as he is a competitor. 2. I saw the defensive coaches make adjustments after Vidors first series that went 2 plays and 70 yards. After that they got into the same defensive alignment wed been running against that offense for years with success. That was encouraging to see and the Vidor O didn't get much after that. Adjustments are a necessity and something we didn't see much last year. 3. The offensive and defensive lines are big. We've been needing some size up front. I feel it's hurt us in years past with our lack of size up front in late rounds. I don't know how good they are, and we certainly need to improve in our run game, but that usually develops into the season. Lots of work still to do and not knowing how good the teams you've scrimmaged are really makes it tough to know much more.
  19. I had no idea either. RIP to he and his wife. It's easy to think these screen names will always be around. It's good to remember there are frail, fragile human lives on the other end and we all have end dates. Praying for peace for Hagars family.
  20. Well, all that's real good, til you line up against the PNG, Jasper and Silbee's of the world. I'll believe when I see it on the field. My gut tells me we'll be decent on offense and porous on defense, again. I hope they prove me wrong.
  21. Well, when I got there I found out they actually started at 6. I saw the quarter and a little more that they played. O line is big. Turner looked good throwing it. I saw a pick 6 and a couple TD passes. For some reason they ended it with 10 minutes left in the second live period. I was told the Woodville coach called it but not sure if that's true. Defense didn't give up much, but Woodville kept committing penalties. Still in that 4-3. We just have to remember, it's Woodville.
  22. I think I'm gonna go. I'll send some updates.
