Wharton is a scary team. If you check their schedule out from last year they are big time Inconsistent. They play Cuero and West Columbia down to the wire losing each contest by 1 then get beat by 2 or 3 TD's by nobody's???? Last year younever new who was coming to play. BH has me worried due to the scrimmages ' date='but hopefully they will come out on top. Either way my butt is in Pearland Saturday screaming and yelling

Wharton was a young team last year and their losses and inconsistency reflect that. They are experienced this year and are talented. Based on this fact and what I've seen from BH this year, I think Wharton will beat their eyes out. Wharton by 3 TD's.

Kick(miss)er is in Colorado this week and will not be attending our first game. It's eating him alive... I know my cell will be blowing up Friday night.

I would agree with you on that comparison admin. Don't get me wrong, Deon was a special athlete and will be at the next level as well. Earl has Beasley like athleticism and a burning desire to compete. Earl is a FIERCE, I mean FIERCE competitor. I've never seen a stronger will to win or succeed from a kid that age. Did I say fierce?
Don't think he could be considered underrated though, anyone who gets a full ride to the defending national champs is DEFINITELY on the radar screen.

I will say this, if WO-S loses it WILL NOT be because of conditioning. Yes, we have players going both ways, but the kids that are going both ways have been doing it for along time and have been through a HELL of a two a days, not to mention the long 7 on 7 season where most of them went both ways in 100 + degree heat. They will be playing Friday night in the "cooler" air. They will be ready physically. If we lose, it will be because we just got beat, not because we ran out of gas.
One more thing, while I understand the point central is making and I agree to a certain point that things would be difficult. I also feel (know) that Dayton could lose to WO-S and still run the table in the 4A district. WO-S is just as good, if not better, than any team 22 4A will put on the field this year.

I agree with you Matt. I think this game will be close and someone will make a mistake (turn over, botched punt, missed extra point) that will determine who wins. Good luck to you guys Friday and be safe.

...against LM....

If PN-G was to beat Brenham' date=' that would be considered shocking, IMO.[/quote']
I agree with that, no offense to the Indians. I also think it would be "shocking" if Ned were to win too.
-
Newton AND Diboll. I agree with OF too, but I've been saying for a while that I thought OF was going to be tough.
-
I think the most surprising team looks to be Kirbyville.
-
Coop, with the relative little water mass between Cuba and FL, do you really see this storm strengthening to over a Cat 2? If so, what's the strongest you see it getting?
-
I never said Corpus. In fact at the meeting at work i told them TX/LA border.
I'll have to back Coop on that one. I remember that he told me that Monday that he was EXTREMELY worried about Rita from the time she entered the Gulf.
-
OF... in a route!!
-
Amazing... we must have two first-string QBs' date=' as we rotated between #4 and #3 all night - from the first series to the second. Also, our best RB only carried a few times (#12), as #24 Garrett carried the bulk of the load from the get-go - including the first series. It just LOOKED like a first string against a second or third string out there.[/quote']
Dude, they see what they want to see. Like you said, they only thought it was the first string because we were STILL running up and down the field like a knife through hot butter. Did you guys really think they were going to go the rest of the season and not have some kind of excuse for that beating? It's a defense mechanism used because they don't want to think that their team is that pitiful, but sorry BHFAN, they are.
-
No more scrimmages...........
Thank God for BH they are... I was almost embarrassed for you.
-
I think you may need to be putting a little more stock in them...

I REALLY like this last model. I guess our threat is diminishing by the hour, that's a good thing, although I'm sure we're not out of the woods yet. If we can get past this one and the one next month, we may have this season licked, right Coop?
By the way, how do they come up with the Farmers Almanac anyway? Is it a bunch of historical data compiled and used to make guesses on what will happen with the weather in the future? If so, I'm wondering if Rita was actually supposed to be this year according to the Almanac, because the history that I've seen of hurricanes hitting this area shows that we get hit every 42 years or something like that.

Vidor, usually...
-
Brandon Williams (Texas A&M Commit) did not play in the scrimmage. RB Morris Thomas broke for a long run on the 2nd play from scrimmage and would've scored but ran into a memorial coach ' date=' who was standing on the field. Also, Memorial's Offensive line is HUGE!![/quote']
Wish he was still in the Blue and Silver... he would be another weapon.
-
That's a good write up and some very good kudos from Jeff Mathews. He's a class act.
-
Coop, is the latest model making you feel a little more at ease?
-
That is soooooooo sweet!!! I know LA, MS, FL and GA have had their share of storms, but so have we. Hopefully, it will keep weakening.
-
Vidor did play pretty tenacious out there. They have some big old boys, too. WO-S looked well oiled on both sides. We need to eliminate the penalties, but over all, I think we're ready to start.
-
Is the number on the hurricane in the Accuweather model the predicted strength of the storm? If so, we could live with a Cat 2 storm, couldn't we?
-
I was just told that they are predicting this thing is going to hit High Island. Is this true? That's all we need...

We have our starting tackle who quit for a couple of weeks and is now back but having to pay his dues to get back on the varsity. He is 6'2" and 270 lb. We also have another lineman who was supposed to be back this year from knee injury, but the doctor would not release him who is 6'4" and 300 lb. When you add those 2 we WOULD have been huge. We are still bigger than we usually are, but losing these 2 hurt our overall size some.
