Kountzer got a reaction from BADSANTA in Best D in SETX
Silsbee's defense & offense is predicated on running, pressing and trapping. They flip turnovers into points. If a team gets thru that they can drive the middle of the paint. Nothing says I'm a good athlete like being good at football and basketball. But the big guy for Silsbee doesn't see it that way. Hopefully I am wrong about that this season.

Kountzer got a reaction from BADSANTA in season is around the corner!! who are some teams to put an eye on
The 2016 team may have been the most deep team. They lost to Lincoln cause Devon got hurt, and Bush was in the eight grade. That team had players like Trajan Harris & Tre Grubbs coming off the bench.

Kountzer got a reaction from no-look in 2021-22 TABC State Rankings, FINAL
Silsbee will probably fluctuate up & down due to their tough skid. How long Yates stays @ # 5 & Argyle @ # 6 is worth watching. The polls have come out. Silsbee football is meh. The Astros & the Texans are getting bashed. The official opening of hs b ball practice is near. Time for basketball.

Kountzer got a reaction from BADSANTA in Silsbee schedule 21-22
CE King, from a Houston perspective is dang near like going to Beaumont, or at least Crosby. Depends on the time/date.
Same for Westfield, depends on the date. I won't elaborate. I haven't been back there since my daughter graduated from there back in the day. The area has "changed" so I am told. But hey I went to a game at Kashmere some years ago. Not tryna scare anyone. Prolly more myth than anything. I even found out I got a nephew & his fam at Westfield. I got grand nephews that play on their football team. My paternal side is complicated. Moving on..
Ion even know where Dobie is. Again, depends on the date.
Hoopsgiving: Last time I went to this showcase Kenny Lofton Jr was laying down his post moves at will. The opponents could not handle it. But then this past summer the 7'3" frenchman (as in France) could not either.

metroplex basketball is a joke. i've seen more team loyalty at pickup games in the park.

Kountzer got a reaction from TrojanMoJo in Has ALL of the Kountze talent moved up the road to Silsbee? What has happened in Kountze?
Back then they mostly had kill the grass, dirt court basketball. No gyms, not cement courts...those came later. As far as I know, in the modern era, that is when it all started in Kountze. Them hoopers back then could play!

Kountzer got a reaction from TxHoops in He has talent and game.
YUP and every time he does that earl the pearl curve around 360 dribble move he is carrying the ball. He should play D2 or D3 cause at D1 on up to the NBA they are gonna sit and wait on that right hand.

Jackson had a good showing against Midway. Probably had about 15 points.
Pretty nice looking shooter. Hope he can keep it up and be consistent.

Ion know. The big three were very good no doubt. But they had a lot of good players &
athletes backing them up. Depending on the year they had players like Newton, Rick Maze Jr, classmate
Elton Grubb's grandson Tre Grubbs, Dontre Thomas. Trajan Harris. All he did was hit those clutch free throws
against Argyle. Christopher Martin Jr. There are a few more I am missing. L Tyler. can't forget him. He is still balling at a college in Oklahoma...Michael McCain, and Kalong Barnes, who could be in the NFL Next season.

Kountzer reacted to TxHoops in Exciting News coming from Lamar Basketball !!
Yeah that was a big get for them. McCain was no earth shattering news. He’s been there since the spring after a brief stop at Clarendon. It was widely known he was going to be playing for the Seahawks next season. And obviously that is huge for Lamar PA as well.

A big regional paper or digital media giant like the Enterprise has to be all things to all people. They have to be accurate, unique, popular and able to call it like they see it. I think they did a pretty good job. Juggling all that is not easy to do.

Kountzer got a reaction from no-look in Argyle state Titles 2021
There is a formula, or formulas out there are only a few know how to use them. Canyon has it is girls basketball. Carthage has it is 4A football. Odessa Permian had it. Argyle has it in spades. Don't leave out Katy football. People will scheme and collude for something valuable. Art thefts, bank robberies don't just happen. Athletic scholarships are valuable. A full ride scoly to UT Austin, or Texas A&M? Those are worth a half a million dollars. So there's some scheming going on. Canyon has been winning basketball chips for 30 years. That did not just spontaneously happen. Whatever has happened or is happening in Yates is mild in comparison.

I'm very sorry to hear that news. I always enjoyed chatting it up with him on this form and had the pleasure to meet him at a Silsbee vs HJ game in 2011. Prayers for his family.

Not many care if you finish high in the polls. Win state and that's when the fun starts: parades, fire truck rides, plaques from city hall, crawfish boils in the park, along with barbecue.

Some of what I say about genetics & all that is tongue and cheek humor. Beaumont is natural draw: good shopping nice housing and subdivisions. I know so many people that have moved to Beaumont, or like me, to Houston. Hopefully Silsbee does what it has to do to carry on. Beaumont? It's aiight. I'm not passionate about the place, but I respect it.
