I respectfully disagree with you. Out of all 5 of their victories, which teams were really hard to beat? Case and point. WOS does not beat PNG without DT. He is one of the best DBs in the nation. You can't put King on defense and think he's going to be as productive as DT.

So far we have been better for one night for EVERY time that we have played the almighty chicken hawks. I believe WOS won the game by RUSHING. I don't think rushing the ends would have helped up the middle of the field. Don't know about WOS being very beatable but we sure did find out that hj was. You have the talent to beat WOS? I believe that we not only swept you from junior high on up, in most games we blew you out. I guess a punt affected the momentum in all those games as well.
 
hj coaches did all they could. It was a pick your poison, either let Jack throw or stop him and hope the Stangs can't run. They did what they HAD to do and probably what WOS will see the rest of the season. You just were not quite good enough to handle us. You have an outstanding team this year, your just not quite what you thought you were though. Yes, WOS is beatable if we don't play well (Newton proved that), but that is not our standard of play.
 
As far as trash talking, I know for a fact that DT knew the content of a few of Bedelman's posts as well as others. I think he was just giving some back. If hj ever does defeat WOS, I think they might earn some of that swagger to trash talk back also. I assure you he is one of the best kids that you will EVER meet and has worked hard for everything he has earned.

Yeah, just let us think it will never happen, because it DIDN'T happen. You had your chance. You had an undefeated season until this game. Your team had tons of momentum, all year to think about, plan, and invest your strategy and emotions into this game. You got one shot, and WO-S won the game. Come back to reality and wake up from the "what ifs" dream. You two have a one way street on the endless possibilities scenarios. You see...a few plays go a different way, and WO-S blows out HJ. But, without them, we still win by three TDs.

With 8:43 left in 4th, Hardin-Jefferson has drove down to WO-S 14 yard line. Hawks have a 1st and 10 and look to cut Mustang lead to 7 with a TD here.

It happened.  I heard it and your coach called Coach Thompson the next morning and apologized and said both players that were saying it would be dealt with.  I commend your coach for handling the situation and the WOS players for the way they handled it.

Only in HJ land can people argue for 40 pages that a team that just got beat by 3 touchdowns could possibly win...
 
Well here is another possibility - The Spurger Pirates football team could beat WOS "IF"

Spurger played with 22 on field to WOS 11
Spurger only had to gain 1 yd for a 1st down to WOS 50

HJ is a good team, they will win a few games in the playoffs - beat WOS - they will NOT...
 
You heard it here folks - over and over and over again from the Silsbee troll idiot -which has been correct all along!

Your "disclaimers" of WO-S being the better team are overrun by all of the "woulda, coulda, shoulda" and "but" and "what ifs" explanations. I don't think you really believe WO-S is the better team. Instead you believe HJ was the victim of a bad call in a game you should have won. 
 
We "benefitted from two 20 yards fields"...this is so stinking hilarious! So, this wasn't such a big deal since we had the ball so close to the end zone after a INT that we forced and a fumble we pounced on? I'm sorry...next time we'll look past the turnovers and treat it like a touchback. That way we can start at the opposite 20 yard line just to make it fair. Also, it'll look better on the stat sheet so you can be really impressed that we had to march the length of the field. I guess we'll have to work harder to impress you next time. 
 
As for the "returned fumble"...part of being a good team is capitalizing on your opponent's mistakes. We did that. You might not be impressed that it doesn't show an 80 yard drive as how the score was accomplished, but that's the game of football. 
 
And that last drive in the 4th quarter...we were "unable to punch it in." Lol!!! Weren't you the same person who complained on another thread that we should have kneeled the ball and ran out the clock in that series? Dude, if we wanted to score there, we could have. Teate (#13) had just broke (another) long run against you and were were primed to punch it in. Our QB was using up as much of the play clock as he could just to end the game. If it wasn't a three TD lead and late in the game, we WOULD have scored there. Nothing HJ did made us "unable to punch it it."

I predict that 10, 15, 20 years from now, there will be a famous story around Sour Lake about the big one that got away. It won’t be your typical grandpa’s fishing fib. Instead, it’ll be about that punt return. Here’s the unavoidable math formula:
 
Continuous chatter about the play + many passing years = story becomes “That’s why we lost the game”
 
Can’t you just hear it now? Years from now there will be posters on this board and fans all over HJ land no longer saying anything about “loss of momentum” or “it unfairly changed the game”. It will eventually become…”That play is WHY we lost the game.”
 
Thank goodness we have so many eyewitnesses to the game who can vouch for what unfolded over FOUR QUARTERS OF PLAY.
 
Some facts about the game worth repeating:
 
1) Except for a span of time in the 2nd quarter, your defense could not stop WO-S.
 
2) WO-S forced you to punt several times.
 
3) Momentum does not win games. Mental toughness does.
 
4) Without the punt play, you still lose on the scoreboard.
 
5) Since you’re fixated on the “what ifs”…what if WO-S goes ahead and punches in another TD near the end of the 4th quarter? We’re deep in the red zone and had time to add another TD. HJ certainly was not going to stop us. Only another parade of yellow hankies would have done that. Add this final drive to the mix, with the punt play, and the score is now potentially 49-21. Without the punt play, it’s still 42-21.   
 
This is the first time ever the WO-S/HJ matchup was even competitive. But, remember...
 
Being able to compete does not mean you can beat. It still ends in defeat.

I agree. But HJ was still a couple of plays away from being in it at the end. To me it's the lesser of two evils. Slowing down the pass and allowing for the run, and hoping for a few breaks or an extra stop or two is a better game plan than stopping the run and letting the wrs run wild with jack picking apart the secondary.

The style of defense you guys played left the middle wide open. By the time our running backs got to the second level of your defense, they were almost at full speed. You can't stop that unless you bring another player in the box. The safeties looked like they were in prevent coverage all night. You can slow down the pass attack with that defense, but the running game is going to yield the same result as it did Friday.

Kicker meant the passing game. In order for you to stop the running game, you'll have to bring another guy in the box. That leaves one safety, based on the way your defense was aligned. If you do that, we will wear your corners out. And trust me. The score will be worse.

Then we let Jack loose. Pick your poison. ;)
