  1. I know the radiant heat off of a turf field during the heat of day is several degrees hotter than the ambient temperature. I wonder how long it takes for one to start cooling down. Never really heard anyone complaining much during evening games.
  2. Raiders & Longhorns for me. There are several other games around I will be looking for updates on, so keep the updates coming.
  3. Will be surprised if we don’t see more game times adjusted.
  4. Things are settling down in WO, Stangs & Coach H
  5. Hearing Raiders will have some players still mending and some returning. That said, I think the Lumberton Raiders players who play Friday night will be giving their best effort to bring home the win. This group has shown they play well as a team, with a not give up attitude. Always been next man up. They will be warming up the engine this week for Friday night; Full Throttle
  6. Silsbee will cruise in this one. If Vidor can find a way to keep the ball away from Tiger offense will help keeping the score from getting ugly.
  7. I think this will be a good ballgame. Both teams have some playmakers. The Longhorns will come ready to play and Raiders will be waiting. Going with the Raiders by 3.
  8. Not taking anything away from any player on the teams, they are willing to give it all they got.
  9. I agree with the 2 div difference and expected outcome, but depth of teams can vary, and how a coaches chooses to staff his teams. Buna with not a big pool of players has to play some both ways; Lumberton uses two different teams for offense and defense. Reyes has made this system work. So you can see a difference on depth in second team staffing. Player’s are able to concentrate on their position and should be able to last longer under game conditions.
  10. Watched Buna/Lumberton scrimmage, sure both coaches saw things they want to work on. Raiders still had same starters out plus a OL player. Not sure about Buna player status. Buna offense didn’t do much against 1st defense but late in scrimmage against 2nd team defense they started making some plays. Good confidence booster for them. Buna has to work on their kicking game. Lumberton offense seemed to be working on different pass plays, still has some things to get worked out. Running game looked better. Defensive line and linebackers looking good. Would have liked to see Lumberton at full strength to see how they clicked. Just a spectator’s perspective.
  11. Plain old luck/// smart phones are limited by the operator!!!!
  12. To get to state it takes a lot of things going a teams way, talent & coaching are the start. Playoff brackets matchup help, and of coarse just plain on luck is always good to have happen along the way.
  13. I tend to think Coach Smith has his team focused on one game at a time, preparing for district.
  14. Ward and Yarbrough for Lumberton were both on sidelines in street clothes, think both have been practicing so must be just banged up a little.
  15. Both teams had starters unavailable for the scrimmage. Silsbee’s depth really showed when 2nd teams were on the field. Actually was a good matchup for the 1st teams of both schools. Qb depth for both schools looks good, defensive lines and o lines looked good for first scrimmage. Maybe next scrimmage all starters will be able to see some action.
  16. 10-4A div1, going with the Raiders, those playmakers on both offense & defense will give teams trouble. I also think LCM will be a much better team this year.
  17. My prediction for 9-4A div 2 is a slugfest; If the teams can make it thru the season without a bunch of injuries come playoffs this district will have the region 3 champs.
  18. Give it till about mid September then we should start to see who the contenders are. DCTF does a pretty good job projecting teams that will be in the hunt for a playoff run. We have plenty of local teams who should make playoff runs, and as always there will be a couple of under the radar teams have exceptional seasons. I am looking for another good year for the eastern side of Hardin County: Raiders & Tigers………
  19. I am glad that you are still offering the magazine in a printed version, it has become something I look forward to mid summer ahead of the football season. I made the switch to a subscription during the Covid outbreak. Thanks for all the hard work and like any business you are there to make a profit.
  20. Enjoyed watching this tournament. Several athletes made good plays on both sides of the ball. Way too early for any playoff predictions.
