  1. As a parent sometimes it comes down to where you feel most comfortable for your child to attend school if the circumstances allow.
  2. Houston and Dallas have some private schools that can recruit student athletes easily because of the sport and academic opportunities they offer. Kelly and the smaller private in our area offer good academic choices but for a student wanting to compete at a higher level also in sports not so much.
  3. This is really no different than most years around area, jumping ship, players/parents are quick to move to another school if they think better opportunities exist elsewhere. Seems most cases are sports related.
  4. Raiders will not be a good homecoming date for the Pirates. But at least Pirate fireworks display is always good. On another note I hope players for both teams keep the unsportsmanlike attitude’s in check. Just a good game with no injuries.
  5. Looked like Raiders had their sights on this game until after the first quarter last Friday night. Defense will need another strong night to keep Pirates from getting momentum. Offense will need to come out in sync and control the ball. Raider +14
  6. A lot behind the scenes on this game. Vidor’s new coach’s trying to get district win#1. LCM’s Coach trying to get a win over slot t mafia and district win # 1. Should be plenty of action tonight. Good luck to both teams. Post some detail highlights tonight.
  7. Finally getting some tolerable football weather. Raiders go get district win # 1.
  8. That’s what I assumed with the final sentence. Fell asleep three times reading the dialogue before I to that point.
  9. Translate this into a setx sports dialogue. 😃
  10. Unless Raiders play like Kansas City last night should be 30+. Depends how long 1st teams stay in game.
  11. Now this is more like old times, Vidor chatter!👍
  12. One would think with the strong game LCM played last week they would be ready for Vidor: but Vidor has been putting up some wins themselves. Which team has the better defense will win. 🤷🏼
  13. Lots of football between now and then, topic for a few weeks down the road….
  14. Silsbee sells them, Lumberton cleans them. Village Creek monopoly. 😃
  15. WOS QB will give HF defense a challenge they did not have in the Jasper game. If HF plays like they did last Friday on both sides of the ball, gotta think Horns take this one.
  16. Raiders should control this game for sure. But I hope we continue to see improvements on the things that plagued the team early on. Coaches will have to keep the team focused and not allow a sloppy game to happen.
  17. Both teams were absolutely running on fumes during the last quarter. Was the game everyone was expecting to see. HF was the more disciplined team overall, and proved they are a contender. Jasper will be a tough opponent for the rest of their district foes.
  18. Would love to see Raiders have a goal line formation with TE’s utilizing couple of big DL players.
  19. I agree: that is why it is so important that they are taught and coached the position and responsibilities. And just to develop a hard nose attitude, may not win the battle ever time but going to try every time.
  20. No disrespect to HJ intended, but Silsbee coaching staff will have to work to keep their team focused and not start playing sloppy ball. Hope both teams have an injury free game. Silsbee this will be a good game to work on improving penalties.
  21. Raider players and coaches are going have to commit to working to improve on the things that they see when they watch the game films. Pretty sure this group will not just be satisfied with making it to the playoffs, the bar has been set. But they have a lot they need to improve on. And they need to start working now, putting in the extra work if they want to make a run.
  22. Vidor is hard to gauge because other than Silsbee not familiar with these schools they scheduled. But they are winning.
  23. I agree, good to see that they are improving and not satisfied with staying status quo. Hope they are practicing hard and staying focused, all of them. A few still need to get in shape because of missing early part of season due to injuries.
  24. Lumberton’s OL starting to get things figured out, seen lineman staying with their blocks and going down field with the play looking for someone to block. Also on a play that Tatum LB stunted thru the gap on passing play, RB made the block and allowed QB to complete pass . Defense made adjustments and controlled the line of scrimmage. Lot less penalties. These are the types of things that a good team will do. 👍👍👍👍
  25. I agree that those teams will be the ones to finish 1-4. Lumberton should go undefeated. Keep thinking LCM will get lined out. Vidor looks to be 2-3.
