I think the big question will be when Lumberton hires their new supt will that person keep McDonald and remove the interim tag or do do they want to bring their own person in....

Probably the fact that they were also searching for a new supt. weighed real heavy in the decision to go with an interim. Maybe they can find a new supt. before long and focus on new A/D HFB coach. Until then sounds like Coach McDonald will do a good job.

I agree. Playing without two of your best three players (Miller, Botley) and a reserve that may end up starting (Johnson) against a formidable opponent in Peabody was probably too much to ask. Peabody is really good.

    Great experience for the Tigers.

Can't wait to see this team at 100%.

Is Johnson recovering from injuries? Have been wanting to see him in action on the court.

This team ain't gonna beat anybody good till they learn to get rebounds and loose balls defensively.

Somebody should have been in that Lufkin kid's face and let him know what he is when he committed that flagrant on Harris that somehow wasn't one. Not sure how pushing a kid while he's in the air doesn't count.

Not saying anybody should have threw hands, but it don't sit right with me our kids just stood there after that happened.

Thank goodness everyone kept their head and just continued to play ball. Was glad I went and watched this game. Harris and # 1 for Lufkin are both fun to watch.
I agree Tigers need to show up on the boards. Most of night Lufkin players had position under the basket and easily out rebounded the Tigers.

Thanks for an enjoyable season Lumberton. Good Lord willing I’ll be watching you next year.

Wasn’t completely shocked, although I thought it would be closer.
Raiders were flat - outplayed & outcoached honestly. I’m still proud of them. Didn’t see any quit in them. Good job young men.

Needville executed better on all phases tonight and won.  Special thanks to this group of Raider Seniors thru the years watching your games from youth leagues to high school. You have been competitor’s all the way.

  5. LCM should be in the running for DC next year, but Lumberton will be lurking, Huffman had a young team this year, and Livingston is due. Vidor is capable of putting together a contender.
All said should be a more competitive district race next year. HJ and Liberty will be needing to justify their decision to compete up.

if the key players for Silsbee are 50/50 type deals I suit em up but only play them in absolute emergency...Silsbee should IMO be able to handle Gatesville with the MASH unit they had at the end of last week's game as I dont believe Gatesville is quite as good as Sealy

This is when a team like Silsbee can say “next man up” the backups and 2nd teams have had plenty of playing time during regular season and can help their team now. Go Tiger Nation.

My opinion is that it's hard to get better teams to play in non district due to the offense Vidor runs. There's just not much value for other teams, not many teams run the wing t, so it will not benefit them later in the season.

Probably is a factor, but I agree previous coach seemed to schedule some teams for “win” percentage. Some of my Vidor friends describe wing t offense looking like an ant bed that has been stirred up.

  8. I have felt all year this defense could be special, front seven are really solid, adjustments later in season helped the secondary. Offense is able to put good drives and wear down a defense. Always the threat of a big play happening. Best thing, they play as a team, believing and supporting each other. Coaching staff still making little adjustments.
