Soulja please stop it, I had to chance to work closely with Green during his time at NS & he’s NEVER been a big X&O’s guy. Even if you go watch him the past 4-5 years with Yates & company…he didn’t run anything spectacular, he just had the players. Which nothing is wrong with that, but when you don’t have those dudes you gotta be able to make adjustments & like I said earlier Green is a sure fire HOF, but I call a spade a spade. Side note: being in the building and watching this game, I can’t help but wonder how much more successful BISD athletics would be if it only had one school.

Side note: anyone who ever questioned whether Mike T was a good hire…this playoff run should quiet all of that noise.

Will they? Only time Green’s teams have had huge success is when he’s had major D1 talent. I don’t see any on the floor outside of maybe EJ

Second Qrt thoughts: I love Green future HOF…but he runs ZERO offensive sets! Gotta run that just a high ball screen you don’t have Wesley Yates, Arceneaux etc WB will guard the hell out of you! Sometimes a team X is better than your O! That X being Elijah Garrett

First Quarter thoughts: I’m kind of baffled that Green runs zero plays for EJ…WB has no answer for him. On the flip side Mike T should make the adjustment to go small ball/5 out & force EJ to guard on the perimeter. That’s the blueprint Weiss had that made it difficult for BU. Otherwise he’s just sitting in the paint preventing them from attacking the rim.

Exactly lol I don’t get it…but things like this is also why I advise coaches I know to stay away from jobs like this. Bringing in a different figure head & not changing anything else will only result in the exact same results from the previous regime. Not sure how people in the community don’t understand this. Beaumont is missing two key things that every successful football program has: Proper Infrastructure from Admin to be successful & most importantly TALENT!

Word is it’s because Ron Jackson said that the current coaches have homes & families in Beaumont. But if it’s me I would let the coaches know on the current staff that they can keep their teaching position they just won’t be coaching. Pretty simple honestly

Yup don’t like it in football either but can understand the reasoning…basketball I’m honestly confused as to why they changed to this format literally watering down the product! On top of that you required to play one less game to win state, disrespectful to teams and coaches of the past who did it the hard way.

Well let’s keep in mind this basketball stuff is watered down..split divisions so you get to avoid the best team in your region. UIL needs to do away with the split divisions…it sucks honestly!

One thing I do like about the hire is Ron Jackson finally hired some youth! Because before this hire it seemed as if he had thing for hiring old coaches lol But Dre is a good dude & should bring a lot of excitement into the program, however he’s already been told by Ron Jackson that he can’t get rid of the entire staff apparently because the current coaches have family, kids & homes in the Beaumont. He can only bring in coordinators, which makes zero sense. He’s definitely fighting an uphill battle because the admin is clueless as to what it takes to have a success athletics/football program. Also he’s going to be hard pressed to find good quality coaches to come from Austin, SA, Houston etc to come take pay cuts in Beaumont.

That’s not the only thing it’s going to take, just bringing in a new coach doesn’t solve the problem. No matter what caliber of coach he is, if you bring a new coach and don’t change the coaching staff, admin, facilities, middle school staff etc chances are the results won’t change either
