A kid don't have to establish residency in an open enrollment school district...if the kid doesn't live in the district, they simply are ineligible for varsity athletics for a calendar year.

A totally different culture that you probably don't understand...some kids only way out is athletics not education my brother. So parents are going to increase their kids chances by putting them in the best position to succeed athletically.

Difference between your son and the kids who are at the likes of DV, NS, SOC etc...they are bonafide bluechips. And parents will do what's necessary to ensure their kid has the best chance to be successful in athletics. Nothing wrong with a parent doing what's best for their child. For those complaining about open enrollment, that just means the higher ups at the school you root for could care less about athletics or they could easily make the district an open enrollment district like the others. Simple simple solution...

What are the new rules?

Well it’s quite simple…coaches who know what they’re doing know they need TALENT to win at a high level consistently & will go about acquiring that talent at all cost. This is why as a coach choosing a school/district who prioritizes athletics is extremely important. Stay away from districts who don’t have open enrollment & ones that continue to build a bunch of schools. If a school has open enrollment…kids can attend no matter where they live, this isn’t recruiting at all, it’s simply called using open enrollment to your advantage. That’s why you see schools like NS, Desoto, DV, SOC etc being able to acquire a mass amount of talent year in & year out.

Not at all…semi-final & state games were played in Jan 2021 (Covid pushed season back) but counted for the 2020 season. I coached in those games I think I would know! We followed up & won state in Dec of that same year 2021 which was my last season coaching.

Nope they didn’t play in 2021 either!

Looking like Deja Vu from 2021 all over again…NS got upset by WL to end 3 peat…then DV got upset by SLC.

Not sure why Gaston chose to play this game at Katy ISD stadium…same team & same place we lost in 2021 and costed us a 3 peat. Yes I’m superstitious lol

I told you last year 21-6A is the best district in the state! Two teams don’t make a district good…if Atascocita had the luxury to go play in the D2 bracket they’d have several state titles by now.

Someone let @navydawg31 know that yet again 21-6A again has two teams in the state semi-finals! He said this wasn’t the best district in the state 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Not saying that but go look at SOC record before Todd showed & started getting “players” to come to SOC! Players are the most important ingredient to any coach’s success
