Just people offering opinions on the correlation between coverage and popularity. I don't think it needs much explanation as to how the conversation egrigously got to where it is.

As crazy as it may seem for some, viewership numbers for MLB and NBA are nearly identical over the past several years. Splitting hairs really, and MLB has seen a recent uptick due to rule changes for the better.

This is what you need to follow for baseball scores, he does a great job.

I can't speak for United baseball but Evadale usually has a solid team year after year.

Response last time was that the culture is changing in Goodrich, and that may well be true, but there is nothing to gain from this. Unless there were prior agreements being upheld I don't see the vision.

Might have to swing by on that first day.

Big Sandy game doesn't surprise me. Like I said in another thread, they struggle to score.

Never know who is gonna suit up for Sabine Pass each year but I expected them to win regardless.

I didn't think I'd have to explain this one but here we are.

Goodrich is awful, Jasper would get better from a intersquad scrimmage. Just hard to believe we're going over and hour out of our way for wasted time.

Atascocita could be pretty special this season. They are playing in several national tourneys and one day events. They will be battle tested come district time.

Some say this is the year for Baytown Sterling to replace Barbers Hill in the playoffs. If that happens, then United would go DII and that could provide an opportunity for both Beaumont schools to make it to San Antonio. Will be interesting to see.

Looks like Orangefield and East Chambers will again battle for district supremacy. If Kountze fails to make playoffs and Anahuac does, that would send East Chambers to DII. My money is still on Kountze getting in the post season.

San Augustine could make some noise in the region. They have a new coach as well.

Big Sandy is back in the rankings after a "un Big Sandy" type season last year.

Brookeland again head and shoulders above the local 1A's but the district that 28-1A faces in the 1st round is loaded. 27-1A has #10 Wells, #11 Kennard and #12 Groveton Centerville along with an always tough Broaddus team.

 

Getting close to that time of year. Looking forward to another great basketball season.

 

I'm predicting another year like last year. Team just struggles to score. Solid freshman and sophomore core, still a year or two away from a typical Big Sandy year IMO.

All-district a lot of times is coaches in their feelings. We got hosed last year lost 1 game in district and win district championship but because of how we played we got penalized. We had 1 superlative (a team that didn’t make the playoffs got the defensive mvp superlative). And I didn’t come close to winning coach of the year. All stuff the kids and I still remember and will make sure shows up come district time. 

I guess I'm naive, I thought you weren't allowed to vote for your own.
