  1. Another example of why you don't want your opponent to have an extra week to prepare and rest. I've seen this happen too many times to know it's a factor. Congrats to College Station.
  2. College Station 14, Angleton 7, half
  3. 3 hours? They better start earlier than that. It sometimes takes hours to get across Houston during rush hours. consult Transtar to find the best route: [Hidden Content]
  4. Glad to hear from a Weiss Wolves fan. I see you posted on the 5A board too.
  5. They corrected Manvel's number. There's probably others that are in error too. If it's like the last two realignments the official numbers will be released on the UIL site to the public on about Dec. 8 and with it will be the classification for each school. Of course the actual grouping into districts won't happen until the first week of February.
  6. I just subscribe to NFHS for 4 months and all Angleton's home games including subvarsity games are on it, so it works for me.
  7. If you subscribe to NFHS, you get Texan Live too. They have a partnership.
  8. The game will be streamed on NFHS. Massey Ratings predict: Angleton 41, College Station 35
  9. Good luck, Dogs. Having the home field should certainly help when the teams are that far apart.
  10. Coach Brittain has refused to give a progress report saying it is a violation of law to do so with a minor but I assume he's out for the season. He was having such a good season as a senior that I don't know what this will do for his college recruiting. It's a shame that the 2nd string guy, Trey Gardner, is also out for the season as he could use the experience as he will probably be the starter next year.
  11. Like you said, it will take some major reshuffling with many more schools in the GHA coming in to 5AD1 than leaving, I think maybe 3 teams will be dropping down, NC Porter (1831) Kempner (1813) and Kingwood Park which I haven't seen a number for yet. I don't think Iowa Colony has enough yet for D1. These are the schools in the GHA new to 5AD1 that seem to have 5AD1 numbers: Spring Westfiield (2145) FB Dulles (2132) FB Hightower (2220) LC Randle (2021) LC Foster (2227) LC George Ranch (2217) GC Memorial (2202) New Caney (2051) Katy Freeman (2066) South Houston (2063) Possibly Manvel (2243) So if the DCTF numbers are accurate, there will be a net gain of 7 or more schools in the GHA in D1. Of course the majority of District 10 (mostly HISD) have below 5AD1 numbers, but the UIL, I feel pretty sure will continue to let them opt up.
  12. College station will make the long trip to Angleton to take on the Wildcats after finishing the regular season a week early on Halloween at home against Weiss, a game which I watched. They would not have won that game without forcing 4 turnovers by Weiss in the second half, all of which they turned into points. They are not a very big team but have a 275-pound kicker. Rushing seems to be their forte although they do pass some and they run a lot of QB keepers. They used 2 QBs in the game. Angleton will have to protect the ball to have success. They seemed to have trouble stopping the pass, but Weiss had a number of dropped passes in the second half. Angleton, after losing their QB will probably mostly run too. I assume we will see a lot of wildcat plays and hopefully may get some special teams scores. It will be interesting to see what jV players will be called up. Congratulations to the Angleton JV and freshmen teams for finising as 10-0 district champions.
  13. It will be very tough for Crosby with the game being played in Bryan where all the Aggie fans will be cheering for the home team.. Now if the game was in Crosby where they have such a home field advantage they would. Maybe they can make it close unlike last year so they can feel good about themselves for next year.
  14. The stats from this game tell a story. Angleton held Crosby to 46 yds rushing. Angleton only passed 6 times (113 yds) but had almost as many yds as Crosby did on 25 attempts (127 yds). Before the 2nd half last week against La Porte, Kasen Jammer in 2 years, a CB, had never played on offense. He carried 7 times against La Porte for 91 yds (13.0 yds/carry) from the wildcat. He also returned the opening kickoff for a TD although he has been on the return team all year. Against Crosby, he also carried 7 times for 113 yds (16 yds/carry) from the wildcat. He also completed 2 o2 passes for 13 yds. I think 1 of those passes to his WR older brother Kaleb. Maybe they should put him on offense all the time even though he has been very good at CB, was named defensive newcomer of the year for defense for the district last year.
