Thanks. We return all but 2 of the girls. Hopefully we will be back next season. I know thats all they will talk about during the offseason. Yalls pitcher was very impressive! She threw smoke all game and we couldnt stack hits. 

If I am not mistaken BH beat Liberty this year and split with Deer Park. Would be pretty awesome if all 3 win state championships!

That’s why I have been preaching to totally disregard the rankings (in the softball forum). At this point in the season they are meaningless.  Max preps has TONS of good info but ignore the rankings.

Maxpreps rankings are stupid.  They have them ranked 7th in Texas, but 2nd in the nation?  Maybe I don't fully understand how their rankings work?  That said, these are absolutely two fantastic wins for BH.  

Sounds like that might be right according to Stepp? I don't think BH could go wrong with either Wager or Abseck but if I had to question one it would be Abseck. He's only been a head coach 6 years and was basically handed the machine Chris Ross and Joe Willis built. He's done well maintaining it but can he come close to replicating those results without CP's money and athletes, TW couldn't? I remember Crosby playing Hutto in the regional final and thinking how we were about to get killed because of Hutto's size. The next round we played Cedar Park who was on a completely different level size-wise. The next year Abseck took over and won a title with a bunch of those returners. 
Wager has gotten to coach kids like Myles Garret so he too has been gifted with a bunch of talent and has a very good record but he's also been brutalized by the who's who of DFW coaches. Hard to fault him when the guys he's losing to include names like Lineweaver, Samples, Mathis and Westerberg though. His Martin teams have never been as talented on the whole as any of those other coach's teams but he's managed to still win one against them here and there. Not to mention he's the main catalyst for turning Martin into the solid program it's been the last decade or so. I know BH has kind of missed on hiring coaches to to drop down a class and take over their program but if it is down to these two I would think Wager is the better fit. 

Today almost everyone makes the playoffs. Any decent team ought to win a first round game in their sleep. Its that easy. First round opponents are usually pushovers. In the last five years BH has had one 2nd round win. One. Two years of TW's five, they missed the playoffs entirely. Its that the goal if you hire supposedly the most elite coach in the state? 
Who said "Metroplex HS Football and southeast Texas football are similar" anyway? I never hear that at all.  
 
 

Frisco is probably the most insane place in the state right now. 

Going to be very interesting to see if George Ranch drops down to 5A-D1 for the upcoming alignment now that Richmond Randle is opening? Randle is only three miles from George Ranch which probably means GR will take a bigger hit than Rosenberg Terry and Lamar Con. Katy Paetow is projected to have an enrollment close to 2,800 kids so I expect them to move up to 6A and the new school Katy Jordan to replace them. Manvel is on the borderline and will probably barely make the 6A cutoff but if they don't you're potentially looking at a 10-5A-D1 consisting of; Manvel, George Ranch, Foster, Angleton and Hightower. 
Unrelated - 15+ years ago when I was going to school in the Dallas area we used to consider Frisco the sticks. I believe they only had two high schools in town. By the end of 2022 Frisco ISD will have 12 high schools with at least a 5A enrollment in an area smaller than Crosby ISD's attendance zone. I was going to one of my son's games a couple years ago and turned into Frisco Heritage High School. I didn't see any players so I asked if I was at the right field at which time I was told "No, you're looking for Frisco Independence". Independence was one block away. Both are 5A-D1. That's what type of suburban growth the larger schools in SETX are competing with. 

I don't think many people think they're similar.  That said, if you bring in an "elite" Metroplex coach, isn't it reasonable to expect him to take his SETX talent and be one of the top SETX teams?  You have to go a LONG way in the playoffs to run into those metroplex programs you're talking about.  

WS fought hard but it was just not their day. Still a remarkable season! 

Georgetown took out #1 in MaxPreps national ranking, but with one and done it should be open.

Also, teams from different regions face different levels of opposition, and some have much stronger pre-district opponents too. A 32-8 team could be stronger than a 40-0 team, in some circumstances. Its cool Deer Park, BH and Liberty will all be there. I will support them all.

We’re building a new two story intermediate school behind HS baseball field, a new intermediate school off of 565, and a new admin building that is the replica of the original high school on Eagle drive. No talk of a second high school.

Liberty was the better team, but they tried to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.  They gave Lake Belton Game 1 and almost did again in Game 3.   Fielding and mental mistakes were costly in this series.  Great job though coming from behind and getting it done at the end of the day.

People will go to where the jobs are, and as long as the Beaumont Port Arthur area has a large part of the population hostile to industry, and their largest schools are a wreck, stagnation and decline will continue. Companies know this. Sad thing is this bad attitude ends up hurting the good people living there that do want to work and grow. The rest are content to just hang out and collect government money for not working.

It’s sad in Jefferson County honestly. It will always be my home area, but it’s depressing. You go to any major city area and it’s vibrant, a full of life. The population in Beaumont and surrounding areas have stayed stagnant or decreased for a good while now. Hopefully, one day it rebounds and gets more attractive to live in the area.

Fuller is a great coach.  I was quite impressed with the pre game warmup. Looked like the Scrapyard Dogs professional team.  

I did not imply that "all" apartments are Section 8. I mentioned trailer parks, too. Its about the tax base, and I thought I had clearly stated that.
As far as BHISD buying tracts ups, maybe they ARE trying to lessen traffic, not in the roadways but in the hallways of their schools. BH is building on as fast and furious as they can, so do you think they want to be flooded with hundreds and hundreds more students before the new construction is even complete? Not everything is always about football, believe it or not. Sounds like prudent planning, IMO.  

My take is Barbers Hill wants to remain a community with a high tax base. The average owner in a 300K house pays more into the system than the "public assistance" people in apartments or in trailer parks. Also, the roads are way overburdened with all the growth that has gone on there over the past 25 years. It used to be a bunch of rice fields left and right of I-10, but now new homes are everywhere. Why would they want to add apartments to an already overgrown area? Common sense, not an "ism" agenda some are trying to accuse them of.
