Lets talk about who might be the next head coach at Kelly. Who do we think it’s going to be? What coach would want to take this job without a QB and two receivers. (All three with D1 offers?) when was the last time Kelly even had 3 kids with D1 offers? Sounds like someone could be stepping in to a very bad situation over there! When is Kelly going to open the job up? Almost two months out from august 1 with summer workouts approaching! They better get on it. Not looking good for the Kelly Catholic Dogs!

I could be wrong but doesn’t Legacy and Kelly usually lose their top tier players to the Public schools their JR and SR year? They stay at the private school for 1-2 years, and play varsity football then attend the public school when they’re able to play. It’s been well known that’s what the QB was going to do. Play varsity as a freshman at Kelly and attend WB when he was able to play. Private school coaches often recruit the Beaumont Middle schools for that reason?

Top tier players meaning the players who could play for WB not just good players for Legacy and Kelly.

It's complete nonsense to post something like this when there is no confirmation. I know we all love to discuss and predict, but the fun stops when you start interfering with a man's life, livelihood and family. Even if it is true, if he has not had time to tell the players, it's no ones place to try to break that news. I have no idea what is true and what isn't, I just know, this isn't the way.

This is the hidden content, please

  3. Actually met up with some people from Buna yesterday and asked about the situation. They showed me some Facebook post from parents and talked about fans always yelling at him during the game. Don’t think it was small town politics that ran him out.  But if admin didn’t remove those fans during the game, I doubt they did anything to try to keep him. The fact that school board members are posting about the job on here, maybe there were some politics going on that they didn’t know about. Girls basketball coach went to orangefield and now boys basketball is leaving. Both were successful and both wanted to stay there for their entire coaching career. Both leaving raises questions and concerns for the program.
Good luck to the coach going forward.

Nice area, not enough talent though.

I once stopped in Tarkington. Made that drive down 105 and got stuck behind truck transporting a trailer house. Can’t make that up. A huge gas station suddenly appears like mirage in the Trinity River swamplands. I needed some cold beer in a bad way. They didn’t have any. Dry area apparently. Got back on the road only to be stuck in traffic because of a wreck on the Cleveland side of Tarkington.

Can a team of non athletes be good in football and not be whiskey or beer drinkers. I think not. Let’s just have a reoccurring post every two years, “Tarkington Open.”

I'm definitely not him but I know special coaches when I see them. And, I just might know a small amount about football. Sometimes.

In all seriousness,  you can't take into consideration his records at EP or Rayburn. Not even remotely close to what we have at PNG or pretty much any other school in the state. Heck, it's heroic to even take those positions. Coming out of Clear Lake HS as the defensive coordinator,  beating Katy in their heyday,  he could have went anywhere he wants and he did. He brought positive influence to some less fortunate kids.

The folks who know, know. Satcher would be a phenomenal coach. Talk about a treasure hiding amongst the weeds. Better get him here if you can. I'm telling you.

You watched his teams in El Paso and Rayburn? You are a special high school football follower sir.

They already have who they want on stand-by. It doesn’t matter who applies. And if you’re in the know, you know who it is.

If you’re really in the know, then you know it’s not one person on “standby” but a short list of favorites of the different factions.

  7. I find these scores predictions interesting. I have never seen either play. Buna 1-5 and Hardin 1-4. Buna has a tougher schedule but games were not close. Hardin played average teams close. Looks like Buna is an average team at best, but I’ll give the edge to the Cougars of Buna. Is homecoming motivation or a distraction? Buna by 8

When Vidor gets to running their hurry up run plays where they sprint to the line and quick snap it, that sure makes it hard to keep up. Sometimes I get a play or two behind but always seem to find a spot to catch up. All I know is one thing, Armadillo Lives Matter! And Vidor is going to win Friday night… so that’s 2 things. I know TWO THINGS! ✌️

Hurry up and run makes a lot of sense in running that style of offense of ball control limited possessions and so forth.  But they are winning can’t argue that.

I would like updates so maybe just update 1st downs, passes and scoring plays.

could well be for the district title, but Woodville could be in the mix. should be a good game. Kirbyville may get the #4 spot unless Buna turns it around

If I was a betting man I’d box EC and Huac at 1st and 2nd take Woodville 3 and that’s a guaranteed trifecta winner. I’ll like the other Ville to edge out Buna for the 4th spot. Not sold on the superfecta but I would bet it too.

On another note, when do the ponies start running at delta downs?

  10. I’m all for playing your best 11. I did watch hallettsville RB dominate the first half in the state game. Not so much second half. He fumbled a ball late, failed to have pursuit to save a touchdown, and gave up that all important 2 point conversation to win. Probably because he was tired and lost focus. A single player cannot play every snap at their best. Physically impossible. Got to find ways to supplement the physical demand of a football game

Then came Neece, due to internal problems he came over to newton and said he was not going anywhere else but Anahuac put enough money on the table and he left. He had Anahuac in the playoff last year.

Didn’t Kirbyville run Neece off? I thought he went back to Newton and was the OC for the state championship and then Anahuac offered the job?
