Lovejoy is very good. As of this moment I have them as the favorite to win it all. They just beat a really good Frisco team convincingly. I dont think we will have enough pass rush to effect their QB.

I thought we would be better defensively. Not as good stopping the run or against the pass as I thought we would be. And I thought our LBs would be more active. I knew our o-line would need time to come together but I dont think we are there just yet. Our running game has taken a significant step back from previous years. Overall still think we will be in the mix but we have a lot of room to improve.

Voted Fort Bend Marshall on the poll question earlier but Crosby has been rolling lately. Still think it comes down to those two ultimately. Regarding region 2 it will come down to Aledo and Lovejoy. With all due respect but I think those are the teams on the short list for state.

Teams are fighting for the playoffs. Tournament season is around the corner.

Being a neutral fan I'm just hoping for a good game. I hope PNG wins but if I had to bet I'd take Crosby.

The NF head coach retired last season. He was a sore loser when he was the coach at Grapevine after Aledo beat them in the payoffs.

Timberview has good size and controlled the trenches. We had trouble stopping their run game and they were able to slow ours down. Combine that with the team being flat and Timberview not wanting to be #100. Made for a really good game. They are going to be a handful come tournament time. But through the adversity we were able to see the character of our team. They never backed down and kept fighting. That's all you can hope for.

Unpopular opinion: I like it when schools schedule tough opponents for homecoming. I'd much rather watch an exciting game than a blowout.

Absolutely. It is pretty silly to try and discount the Crosby state finals run.

What happened last year was special......... you should just stop there. That was a ridiculous run!! Doesnt matter how you get to state but just the fact you are in the game and everyone else is watching.

I'd like to see FBM vs Cedar Park or someone along those lines. That would be a fun game.

Maybe they are to the point where teams in their area dont want to play them in non-district. I know we have issues finding teams from time to time. We have to expand our drive time. Regarding their district there isnt really much they can do.

Even though their schedule wont necessarily prepare them, they have made enough deep runs lately where they know what it takes to make it to Arlington.

I agree that Fort Bend Marshall is the favorite in the region. They are fast like normal but have a bunch of experience that came back.
