There was 6th grade team then ran by the bisd police! Officer Reggie Bozeman started the league ! Idk if they still do it now but they did then ! My cousin was coached by coach rideaux of Our mother of mercy !

You are correct....he also played there in 7th grade cause I've seen pictures of that team in a friends house cause his son was on that team.

Griffin is #21 he has been playing I've seen him on every highlight I've seen on HJ this season unless he got hurt in the last game. Samaha will be working hard tonight if he is out. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I say BU by 16

Someone reminded me that Porshia is out due to Football tonight...BU may only suit 7 or 8 kids ...it could be closer than what some would think..

I don't know any player that was on those two championship teams that attended 4 different high schools.

Significant players on first championship team:

Trajan Harris    Sr.     played entirely at Silsbee

    Michael McCain  Sr.       same

    Bruce Newton     Sr.       same

    Devon McCain    Soph.    same

    Kalon Barnes        Jr.        same

    Landon Tyler       Soph.    same

Bralon Bush         Fresh.   played all 4 years of high school at Silsbee, middle school at Legacy, lived in Silsbee

Jordan Adams     Soph.    played all 4 years of high school at Silsbee, played 8th grade at Silsbee, 7th at Vincent

Trey Jones           Sr.        played senior year at Silsbee, played first 3 years at Legacy, lived in Silsbee

Calvin Tyler, Jr    Sr.         played senior year at Silsbee, played first 3 years at Beaumont Ozen

    2nd championship team

Devon McCain    Jr.        played entirely at Silsbee

    Kalon Barnes        Sr.        same

    Landon Tyler       Jr.    same

    Trey Lowe            Sr.    same

    The big guy.  That's true.

If that's the case then Yates on BU is from Kountze....born and raised there but never went to school there and moved out during middle school...I remember watching him play for STJFL in Kountze till he moved to Beaumont...Mom from Kountze and Dad from Beaumont....

Not sure if we're thinking about the same players but....

Bush and Jones were Silsbee kids playing in Beaumont that came home. That other kid, well, you spend five years here, you got Tiger blood in your veins now. Calvin Tyler came over from Ozen for a year. That's who I count. Only other playing I can think of is Thomas, who really didn't play much of a role here before he got in trouble.

That second title team is about as pure of a true small town team you're gonna get, unless that one kid doesn't count. And, well, I guess not everyone will count him as Silsbee 😟

Anyways, looking forward to what Silsbee can do against West Brook. Should have about 90 percent of our roster, minus one starter. Hope we can at least not get blown out.

You can have all the blood in you that you claim but when you and your parents homes are in Beaumont the whole time your attending school 2 cities over and you go home everynight then I guess that makes it ok....IJS

The 2 years they won State?

I'm referring to one kid not from Silsbee for those 2 years they won State. If that's what your talking about then thats wrong...Silsbee had 1 kid attend four different Highschools with Silsbee being the last but resided in another city. They had 1 kid move to Silsbee after jr year for reasons resulting from issues with there home and 1 kid who's always lived in another city and attended school there since 8th grade. If the powers to be allow it then so be it. When was the last time a team with all homegrown talent won State where all the kids resided in the city. I cant think of any that I know of in the last 20 years besides the groups from Kountze in there better years.

Strake Jesuit and Dallas Jesuit have to play 6A football due to recruiting. Similar rules should apply to FF. There was a Dallas article about FF buying the Cedar Hill coaching staff and the reasons stated were very obvious.

I really wanna know how many kids was Desoto missing due to football?

If the answer is very few or none, there's not even gonna be any competition for the 4A state title this year.

and believe it or not, those Silsbee teams only had one kid for one year that wasn't a Silsbee person.

The 2 years they won State?

HF won't have any problem playing with HJ and HH. They have a great coach and several really good players from Beaumont.

I Love how people have always went back to players from Beaumont when speaking on the topic of HF....Half of the people born outside of anywhere claim where they live now...if these kids got in or even sat out a year then who cares where there from...The problem I have with these situations is that everyone of these kids hadn't played a Varsity down where they came from and still had to sit out...The rule needs to be if a kid hadn't played any Varsity minutes at prior school then the 15 day sit out should be efficient enough..As a parent that's a realist and if i know my child isn't better than what's there or coming then I would leave or transfer out also cause at the end of the day the kid just wants to play and not ride a bench. If a Coach had to sit out a season when leaving for a better job opportunity he wouldn't complain about these kids leaving anymore cause he wants to be able to Coach right away to better his or herself. Yall make these statements as if all the basketball talent resides in Beaumont...what are you saying about the other kids around towns?

Bro lost to Orangefield, Vidor, Lumberton twice, LCM, and West Orange with Ozen talent.  Bou never lost to Orangefield man.

Bou has always had the best player in the Golden Triangle so that's not saying much..a couple went on to play in the NBA....that's easy to do when you have those caliber players...play it back...How many of those teams did Coach have that had D1 talent compared to Bou?

Most teams are so depleted with talent across the board they dont do as much live action anymore. If you get 1 day of live action your risking your season when back in the day you did twice if not 3 days a week and if an injury occurred next man up. QB was the only player protected back in the 90s...

Therefore it's an offensive game now a days...
