Good job Lamar. A crucial series vs ACU. Unfortunately they have never played well against them, so I am hoping they can at least win 1. They were 1-2 at home in 1st round. Sure would like to see them fair better If not they will go from 2nd to 4th in their division

19 pitchers on the roster. I would say 16 are either not very good or as you said they are not being utilized enough and I would certainly say that the pitching coach or coaches are not doing a very good job. What about the poor defense with all of these errors, who is coaching them? I would say whoever it is, is not doing a very good job, especially after 40plus games

I get you on this. The 1st 2 starters and Dallas are not the problem. No depth plus errors, you are certainly correct on this. So where is the coaching to fix these errors? With basically 3 pitchers they will not last long in the tournament Again my point can’t be successful under Davis reign

I understand your point, however Lamar has never played well vs UTRGV and ACU, not just this year. Also note that they are 2-7 this season in conference series finals with the 2 wins vs cellar dweller SFA. That tells me that pitching depth is a major issue

Well on the positive side this is Lamar’s best record with Davis. Either finish 32-23 or 33-22. Conference either 16-14 or 17-13. Now for the negative with Davis at the helm. They simply do not play well vs UTRGV and ACU. They will most likely be in 4th in their division after the ACU series. They are 2-7 in conference series final games this season. They have never won a conference championship under Davis(nor will they), and they are simply bad in conference tournament games, usually 2 and done. To consider a season to be a success in D1, you have to win your conference or the tournament and make it to a regional This is not going to happen as long as Davis is there

Yes indeed, hopefully Lamar will put it all together and get the much needed win. 2-6 in this season’s final conference game in the series and now 2-3 vs UTRGV this season. Hopefully 3-3 after tomorrow

Good news Lamar rallies for win in game 2 vs UTRGV. Bad news they are 2-6 in conference series game 3 this season. Hopefully tomorrow will be a win

11-37 and 5-19 that is atrocious 19-80 the past 2 seasons. The only season Hooks had a winning record in her 1st year at Lamar was because she had the majority of Bruder’s recruits still there. Since then, Lamar has been horrible Lamar hired an AD that only cared about tennis and knew nothing by about hiring quality coaches

Does anyone have a clue as to why Lamar does not play well against UT Rio Grand 1-3 this season and ACU. For some reason their record vs these 2 is bad

I don’t think I have ever seen a Lamar softball team this poor the past 2 seasons. Could possibly be the worst D1 program in the nation theses past 2 seasons. Looks like an 11-37 season which would make them 19-80 the past 2 years. They may get lucky and finish 20-79. There is obviously not much talent alongside poor coaching and a total lack of recruiting

A super surprise to me, but extremely glad to see the series sweep. I wish they would play ACU and UT Rio Grande the way they play Sam Houston. Have a chance today to take the lead in their division

Glad to see them make the playoffs even though they will be one and done. Just not a very good season for sports programs this year for the Dogs. Hopefully next season will be better

Well I see this very good Lamar baseball team has scored a whopping 1 run the past 2 games. Same Ole Cardinal baseball team under Will Davis’s leadership. They better think about staying in the WAC because they will have to face HBU in the SLC and can’t beat them. Do not be surprised if they fold the tent during these final regular season games

I certainly hope that Brooks gets the Cards back, however don’t look for it to be a hurry
