The fact that Lumberton hired a good coach proves they want to win as a community. Vidors community is complacent and content with losing. Both are trending in opposite directions
So, Do Vidor folks seek "bad coaches"? Do they screen the good ones out during the interview?

They are as close to the top of division as they are to us. We are the smallest school in the division.
What is Aledo's enrollment?

Which side are you going to sit on lol?
Not sure, but I will be there. We are driving up Saturday morning.

170 more kids helps for sure.
Agreed, they had a good showing for the first year in 5AD1. I wonder if they were among the larger schools in the division?
-
Trying to get some information. Has Aledo been in 5AD1 the same amount of time as Crosby? They seem like they may have had a better adjustment period than Crosby.

Best game of the year by our defense!
Guess I will be pulling for Aledo next weekend. I plan to be at the game.

Yeah that is the same kid. Crazy play though so deep on our end. This game has been fun.
Getting close to the win! You know I am here supporting you.

PNG is a perfect "real-time" example of what happens when a Coach implements an effective scheme game plan, combined with a group of players who buy in and commit to executing what they have been coached. PNG has progressed every week throughout the year and has become a completely different team than what started in August.
PNG coaches put a plan together for each week and the PNG players embrace and execute the game plan each week regardless of who the opponent is and what the narrative may be. PNG are definitely a team that is easy to pull for.

Let me start of by saying I think the kid is talented, no doubt about that. But I caught some flack saying LV WR #8 wont be in the top 3 WRs that Aledo has faced this year. Having played LV what would yalls assessment be of him.

Of course.

Was able to attend this game. Was pretty impressed with PNG fanbase and the PNG focus/intensity.

Yall hung 80 on Huffman or the Atlanta Falcons before?? 🤦🏾♂️😂
Would not bother me if they hung 150 on Huffman.

You act like Longview isn’t beatable. Slow start against the wrong team could cost them.
They are not "beatable" for Aledo.

Perhaps. But until then the questions remain.
Sit tight. Clarity is on the horizon. What we see from time to time is that inferior teams display the ability to be competitive for a few minutes but once the game settles in the superior team pulls away from the inferior.
Hopefully Aledo can win this week and you will get experience first-hand what PAM and Crosby experienced. Should be a good educational opportunity.

I'm sure this thread will go off the rails but I do want to ask. Both Crosby and PAM had good starts against Longview. What contributed to the success not continuing? Was it play calling? Turnovers? Mental mistakes? Penalities? Experience? LV adjusting? How did the games slip away? Also what would have needed to change to have a different result?
You will have more insight when LV stomps Aledo next week (provided Aledo can win this week).

Longview, don’t know anything about Timberview
All they "know" is that they are going to win handily.

Wish I lived closer. Would have been there cheering for PNG.

Didn't impress but still won by 44? I'll take that any day of the week.
Yes, getting run off the field does not impress PAM. Nor will LV winning a State Championship. PAM only a few plays away, even though they got a mudhole stomped in them in every phase of the game and are nowhere near winning a Championship themselves.

Credit to Gilmer for keeping it close. No doubt that Gilmer is the 2nd best 4A team D1 or D2 in the State.

I guess we know what the toughest district in the region is.

After "you know what" this season, they will continue to say it. Prepare for more of the same for the next three years.
