Yes OF has two of the three best players in the District and was always going to win this game. WV lost several key players from last year. No one should have though WV would beat OF in this game if they knew the rosters.

Yes, 1985 Yates = 5A (biggest classification at the time). 3A teams are very seldom better than the best of the large schools. If you know nothing of 1985 Yates, you are likely not versed on high school football in Texas.

Probably going to go ahead and add this round to the list of things where "I am was right, and you were wrong". FYI, WV does not have the same talent level that they had last year. Still likely to make the playoffs.

Stated in a previous thread, Eisenhower is a complete dumpster fire that cannot be overcome this year. They had under 30 players in athletics during the Spring.

They still do. Nimitz has the best feeder by a long ways.

Nimitz is currently the best of the Aldine schools, and they have turned out the most D1s and will again this year. Davis won last year but previously has not made the playoffs since 2018.

Do you think WV will challenge Newton?

Have not heard anyone say WV was going to fall of the map. Many are predicting WV to challenge Newton. Especially with the players that WV has and what those players have shown over the years. Also heard that new coaches is exactly what WV needed.

Don’t know if they are ready to beat Silsbee but I can see evidence of the talent that folks have spoken of coming into form
