1. So....writing us off for a loss against SC huh? That's okay. Say what you feel.  8)
 2.
Keep it real folks, When it was announced that SC was now part of the new 19-4A all our kids heard was how they would not be able to compete, how they were in a soft district, and most of all Dayton,Dayton,Dayton......News flash, When you start to push something down someones throat they tend to aquire a dislike for it.
That's cool. We get it. We had the same thing happened when we went to 20-4A for a minute. Gotta beat the man to be the man.

Everyone wants a piece of the top dog. Only natural. But to say they "don't like" Dayton when the two teams have never played is a bit of a stretch I believe. Unless smokin baby has been over there tellin lies on us.  8)

But balke sis a great job IMO.  Denny has been the starter since his freshman years.  A lot of experience goes with that speaking the obvious here.  Blake did a great job coming in and filling in for a 3 year starter now.  You Dayton folks can brag all you want you got the W but you did it with 2 fluke plays.  Now had that busted play been just a first down play like it was intended to be the ponies might have actually earned a TD and not have had one of the 2 handed to them.  It was a hard faught game between 2 really good teams just so happens Dayton got the breaks and the W.
bh beat dayton. Did I miss something. Honestly your oponion is ignorant. A kickoff return for a td is not a fluke play. Now dayton muffing the xtra point that was a fluke. The way I see it the score should of been 7-6 and dayton wouldnt have needed that last td.
There was a penalty that gave them a second chance at the kick off return.  Other wise they would have been inside the 5.  So a great return set up by a penalty.  The go for it on 3rd and short and it turning into a TD.  Ok maybe not flukes… but lucky helps with skill there you happy? My point is BH beat Dayton on offense and defense with the 2 field goals.  But it just wasn’t enough thanks to lady luck mixed with some skills.  There get it?  Ignorant would be convincing your self that two lucky breaks means Dayton was the better team.  They won... They got lucky!  But sometimes you have to be good to get lucky.  That they are but they could lose to the hill just as easy as they won.  Hats off to the ponies and there win.
I guess it was lucky for Bh we muffed punts all night long and gave BH excellant field postion  and it was lucky we stuffed your offense  inside the red-zone how many times. It was lucky BH only had 11 players to stop a guy run 95 yds for a TD.It was lucky you got Home-field advantage two years in row.It was lucky for Dayton we had more penalties than BH also Dayton had a penalty on a kick-off -lucky Bh couldnt return it for a TD.Lucky BH offense sputered with 2 min left in the 4th keeping them from getting a fluke TD to win the game. Thank god for luck.
He's also lucky Jayhawk replied...Hawkeye had some other words chosen. Very lucky for all of us.  ;D

Pretty decent BH defense against a potent SC offense. Can the Eagles put enough pressure on Sharp to take the Bulldogs out of their gameplan? BH got some pressure on our QB but it's not like he didn't have time to throw. Dayton's pass game was/is just a little out of sync. Man I hope they get those camera issues worked out on the TASN broadcast. Last time I tried to watch a game online you couldn't even see the whole play.
why not just go to the game?
Definitely would if I was off.

I did not see any speed from him at all last night. People can believe what they want but I was at the game also and I believe the score would have been much larger in Daytons favor if the wind was not such a issue. Not a excuse. Just a fact and we still won...............I will say their defense is very good and their line did cause havoc all night.
Strongly disagree!!!  I was at the game too and although the wind was a pain in the "a" for everybody, completions were made 50% of the time for Dayton and 75% of the time for BH.  You guys are supposed to have a studly backfield with break away threats.  1. You had less rushing yards. 2. less first downs. 3. more punts. 4.  less passing yards; albeit by 1 yard than BH.    If anything, the wind disrupted your coaches more than it disrupted your passing game.  You guys (as per stats on Chron.com) avg 7.6 pass completions per game and guess what 7 completions this game.  Yes, Dayton won and like I said, congratulations on a hard fought win; but c'mon guys, BH shut down your vaunted offense just as Dayton shut down BH's.  Call it for what it was, a helluva game with a good plan by both coaching staffs and leave it at that.
I agree with you Eagle. If I remember the fleflicker reverse we ran and completed was against the wind. Dayton I believe had a long throw against the wind as well. I was surprised that Dayton didn't go down field more with the wind against their back. Dayton hit a crossing route for big play and never went back to that play or anything down field. Still scratching my head on that play calling by the Broncos. I know some of it had to do with pressure from our D, but you can only asnap to the QB and run left and right so much. That won't get it done in a couple of weeks. Anyways that's my insight for what it's worth. ;D
Hate to admit it but I agree with 82 & TradinUP. I was scratching my head at some of the play calls too. I know the perception of the Bronco offense is this high flying, throw it all over the field type offense, but this year that is not the case. We are predominately a running team. Its' true we have some fast and talented receivers but the fact is we only average about 10 or 12 passes a game and half of those are bubble screens. It's my belief that the Dayton coaching staff is simply going with the stength of the players. Chambers is not a prolific passer. Much better running. He has shown signs of being more than capable of chunkin it though. Crosby game was a good example. BH did a great job shutting us down. I agree that the Broncos are going to have to find a way to move the ball more consistently if they want to make it very far.
 10.
It cracks me us seeing Dayton fans trying to pass our back-up QB as "not much of a difference" or "better than denny".....  "Come on man", let's be real and for those that have watched every game have seen both play a lot of downs.  Our back-up offeres a slight different threat, but Denny runs that offense to near perfection, so yes it is a BIG drop-off.  Another "mis-remember".....BH DI NOT blitz all night.  We blitzed one time, it was just our D-Line was kicking your tails.  Trust me I almost lost my voice yelling for a 3rd and long blitz "all night". One last issue, Yall need to get some training wheels on #74.  That kid was on the ground more than on his feet......... ;D ;D ;D ;D
I thought the back-up handed off to #36 about as well as Denny did.  8)
That kid should not be hanging his head. Nor should the whole BH team/coaches. They played great. We got the breaks. That was the only difference.
 14.
A win is a win. Both defenses played great. I hated to see denny go out in the second quarter but the kid that replaced him actualy had a couple nice runs. Dayton had receivers open but for some reason our qb was not on his game. I was also shocked at our punting. Dayton called a timeout to kick with the wind to end a quarter and the punt netted less than 20 yds which is unheard of for our kicker. Bh has a good team and used that bye week to really come out prepared.
That they were. I think they won that battle.
 15. One more thing and I'll get off my soapbox. Someone mentioned in an earlier post about lil' pony(#15) not getting any touches. I totally agree! WTH? I think his running style would have been the perfect fit for this type of game. Sad that the coaches didn't see that. The one carry he had went for 7 yards. He's a senior too. I know # 18 may be faster and more of a big play threat, but they were not giving us the edges. They totally committed to shutting down the outside. Sorry for being critical. Most Dayton posters do such a good job of refraining from negative comments. I can't help it. I have loved me some Bronco football for many years, driven to every away game, sat through many a cold night, and I think I have earned the right to at least speak my mind. Is it time to give up the spread? I mean if we're gonna run the option......? If we're only going to attempt 8-10 passes (most of those being long routes) a game, should we give up the spread? Just sayin. How about a full back and tight end? I mean if you're going to run the ball 90% of the time, should we have 4 (talented) wideouts on every play? Just asking.

Very smart move to kick it straight up and let the wind take it.
Yeah. I remember commenting that it seemed the ball was moving in slow motion!
Umm...... pretty sure that was not planned. Maybe you're joking and I just didn't get it. That was just a lucky bounce for Dayton. That's what this game was. Two teams both stopped by each others defense and decided by special teams, broken plays, lucky bounces. Thank God it wasn't decided by the refs.
 17. Great game! Colder than a well diggers arse! Great defense on both sides (as every post has said). Hope Denny comes back strong, but I didn't see much difference in the backup to be honest. Crazy that the Dayton QB was quite possibly having his worst game of the year, then wins it with a broken play. Ironic. First time I have seen Dayton run the option in a long time. Hope they stop. Still no 10 yard pass routes. 4 receivers go 20 to 40 yrds down field. Takes too dang long to develop. Can I get a check down please! A quick slant? It was pretty obvious in the first quarter BH was cutting off the edges. Great gameplan and prep by the Eagles coaches. Not sure why we kept trying to get around the corner(for 3 more quarters!)And why the short side of the field every time? Let me stop. Good win Broncos. Congrats to BH on a well played game. Hey since we won by a TD (like BH did last year) does that mean we can talk about how bad we "smoked y'all" for the next 12 months? Just curious.
