Man what a game !!! Lumberton has a good ball club!!! Coach Mitchell does a heck a job and those kids play hard!! Hj is a heck of a ball team.
-
No Hj at lumberton??

Number 2 did play

39-38 anahuac

64-55 Lumberton, haven’t watched them play in about 2 weeks, good win over a good Fannett team at Fannett.
-
I love me some coach Jeffcoat, really good coach

Silsbee is still pretty good!!! I think they will make a run to the regional tourney. Lumberton had a good game plan and did a pretty good job at trying to slow the pace down little bit on possessions. One thing I do know is Lumberton always plays hard that’s never a question, that program has made tons of strides and they are actually a fun team to watch....Coach Mitchell keep doing what you do you have a built a competitive program over there and keep working hard!!

Silsbee got it up to a 10 point lead in the 4th. At that point it could have gone either way, a close win or a comfortable win. When it reached that point the issue was no longer really in doubt. It was a 50/50 shot that it could have been a 20 point win depending on the bounce of the ball.
I was wrong too. But why? How good is Lumberton after all? They are 2 - 4 in district. HJ handled Lumberton without too much trouble, a 22 point win. LCM and WOS beat them. And their two wins against Bridge City and HF were close affairs. Silsbee has beaten all those teams. Our predicts were perfectly reasonable.
There are only two possibilities.
1. This team was playing a good bit over their heads tonight.
2. This is an under achieving team.
Based on what I saw on the court tonight I can't help thinking it's No. 2. I think nobody in district has seen the real Lumberton team until tonight. This is a good team. A really good team, better than anybody except Hardin Jefferson and really they should challenge them in the next meeting. They can and should win out against BC, HJ, LCM and WOS. I think they should place third in district losing again only to HJ and to Silsbee. In my opinion Brock Mcclure is clearly one of the best players in the district, maybe third behind Bush and Wirth. And the supporting cast is competent. And by the way, the Raiders showed no signs of wearing out. They had legs the whole game despite the fact that Silsbee pushed them pretty hard.
Or maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Silsbee is the only team they really really care about challenging and they really were playing over their heads.
Did you think they are well coached??

Man that was a great game!!!! Coach Mitchell had those boys ready!!!! Great effort tonight!!

I think lumberton can match up with them better than what some think, but they need to stay out of foul trouble. Wish I could make this one.

My buddy told me Lumberton probably shot 25 percent from the field and they missed tons of fts and wide open layups. Said they had a chance to win it twice in final 30 seconds but couldn’t convert on really good looks.

I think big sandy beat a really good Huffman team this year but I’m not for certain.

16-3 is pretty good team to me
-
How did lumberton look ?
-
Foster is another great one, bad Santa you named coaches who have stallions every year.
-
Real simple you have to have players to win, I mean I think Coaches like coach Jeffcoat, Coach Mitchell, Coach Mcdonald, Coach Smith from vidor don’t get enough credit, those guys do a pretty dang good job with what they have...
-
Yeah I agree hoop, lumberton is lucky to have a coach like coach Mitchell!!! Seen him coach for a long time does a good job for that program.
-
Congrats to coach Rideaux and his team
-
District is tight, going to be interesting in how it plays out.

They beat goose creek, bay city, Tarkington, Anahuac at that tourney. Goose and bay city aren’t bad from my knowledge but who knows, they went 3-2 in Nederland tourney and that’s a good tourney right?

Lumberton lost a lot of depth from the bench last year and 2 crucial starters from last years team.
