  1. It's that time of the year again. Let's see who actually knows what they're talking about. Winners from last season were @KF89, @bullets13, and myself. @Mr. Buddy Garrity & @wo-s#1 also had good seasons. The old man @AggiesAreWe finished just outside the top 10. Not bad for being retired. Now the slate is cleared and everyone starts at zero. Contest begins 12:00 pm Sunday Locks on Friday at 7pm (subject to change) Open to everyone NO COPYING! Have Fun!
  2. It's old news and nothing is going to change what was done for the last 3 seasons. Now that they're bringing things back it has to work. Right?
  3. Currently separated by 0.005% 2 ways to view this Riley Dodge has led his team in at least 14 games each season as HC. His worst season only had 2 losses. SLC 12-2 > .7859 (+.0026) WOS 5-6 > .7833 Now lets look at the predictions. SLC is picked to win 1st championship since 2011. WOS isn't picked to get to the regional final game. Hickman's best season was last year at 9-3. SLC 16-0 > .7889 (+.0001) WOS 9-3 > .7888 1 loss by SLC keeps us ahead. But 4 losses by WOS and it's over. Once we fall to 2nd there will be no catching up unless miraculous transformation at both schools. Seeing that one changed everything and the other kept all the same traditions. Well, you can connect the dots. <deleted negative comments> I'm trying to be supportive "Do or do not. There is no try."
  4. The last time both teams were ranked for this game was 2021. All meetings since then have been won the the visiting team. Last time Newton came to town we lost a shootout 58-54. Thats the most points ever scored against the Mustangs in any game. Neither team is breaking any records this week. Hearing the Eagles have solid run game as usual but can't throw a pass more than 10 yards. I hope my source is wrong. I havn't had a chance to see the Mustangs personally but from what I hear this season can go 2 ways. Defense wins championships. Or the game is won in the trenches. One has to happen before the other. Can't put the cart before the horse.
  5. Thanks. Time for Pickems to get started. If I notice any discrepancies, I will confirm and correct.
  6. [Hidden Content] From the article... Mustangs scored twice and LCCP scored once. The Mustangs had a third TD (pass) called back on a inadvertent whistle. One of those TD’s was a long run by RB Khelvy Jefferson. “The defense ran around like we do,” Coach Hiawatha Hickman said. “We gave up the long ball and that’s probably on me more than them. We had a few guys out with sickness but I was happy overall. They are a quality team.” The Mustangs open at home next Friday against the Newton Eagles. “They’re fast,” coach said. “We’ll do our best to control the edge and keep them in the middle of the field.”

  10. ●Games Won - The raw number of games a team won relative to the maximum number possible (96 for 11-man teams, 90 for 6- man teams); so, of the maximum number of games a team could have won, how many did it win? ●Winning Percentage - Of the games a team played, how many did it win? ●10-Win Seasons - Of the six seasons, how many did a team win 10 games? ●State Championships - How many state titles did a team win? ●State Championship Game Appearances - How many state championship games did a team play?
  11. BC potentially has the pieces to get it done. They do need a QB and I dont think they lost too many seniors that were impact players. But I agree HH and LCM should be the favorites heading into the season. Lum @ BC is already penciled in on my weekly schedule. Love the atmosphere at Larry Ward and some of the best concession stand food in the area.
  12. LV, BE, FBC all long road trips in consecutive weeks. The test is real and we'll see if we are up to the challenge. Then we get the district foes at home.
