My old neighbor was authentic, couldn't understand half of what he was saying. Just him and his wife, they only knew how to cook for 10 people. So they would knock on the door unannounced, with a big pot of gumbo and homemade bread. One time, my dad and I, must have spent 20 mins trying to dig out the meat before we realized there was nothing but okra in there. All we had was Italian sausage, from Nick's of course.
