  1. @Kountzer will love this.
  2. Welcome to the discussion. 1st post, you got my attention.
  3. My friend I completely agree with rant part 1. These people are in the business of saving lives, or so they say. But at what cost? Where does it end? The panic and hysteria got to me as well. I said somewhere that I underestimated this storm and we left. My nephew refused to go. So I gave him my generator, gas, propane, ice chest and food. All the supplies they would need to ride it out. The next morning we heard the same "unsurvivable" warnings. I've seen the damage from the winds of Rita, surge of Ike, and the rain of Harvey. Yet it took the entire family to convince him to leave. I'm glad he did, less stress of the unknown. But it was unnecessary. Only by the power of prayer and the grace of God, we were spared. With all due respect, the last line seems too much. It's not just the wording you chose, although many may agree with you. We can't stoop to the level of the devil. As Christian's we must rise above and depend on the messages we receive from him. The Lord works in mysterious ways. As I was typing my reply, I was shown a picture of a bed with a tree branch straight thru. If he wouldn't have made his mother evacuate, well you can imagine the rest.
  4. All big time politicans are cons. Don't fall for any of them. If you believe everything they say, you can only blame yourself. There's always an angle. They don't need your money or approval, just your vote.
  5. Fakebook complaining? What a joke. Let's see if they wanna go complain to these workers when they work in their neighborhood. I was in a restaurant after Ike when about 15 out of state workers came in to eat. All of us locals pitched money in a hat to pay for their meals. When we took it to the manager he was very suprised and refused to take it. Said it would be on the house. So we gave to them personally anyway. They had never experienced any act of kindness like that in other areas they helped before. Texans know how to take care of the help when we can't do it ourselves. Prayers for all these hard working people to stay safe while repairing the storm damage. And on the road returning home to their families.
  6. Parts of BC and OF are already back on

  9. When you flip a light switch... Drop a dolla in the swear jar.
  10. Friend just posted a pic. Sitting in a fast food bathroom, only 2 squares of TP... The mask took 1 for the team.
  11. There's 4 there. So more like 1-3
  12. Looks great. No complaints from me.
  13. My understanding is that is for full restoration of power grid. I've seen that some areas should be ready in 2-3 days. They are out in full force. Central mall parking lot is completely packed with trucks.
  14. Saw 4 HEB trucks and a generator heading into orange
  15. My house is 100% the way we left it. Just trees and fence. Prayers answered.
  16. Some parts of vidor still have power.
  17. Setx was on the preferred side of the storm. I watched all night as the eyewall skirted the Sabine river. Videos of damage is hit or miss. But for the most part all is well. OC judge reported no water rescues in the county last night.
  18. The recovery will take a long time. We were without power for over 2 weeks after rita. I'll never forget, grilling some food outside after another long day working in the heat. It was getting dark, and the street lights came on. I couldn't help but wonder how long had it been on that day. Moral of the story is... leave something ON so you'll know.
  19. Play A took a turn for the worse. I completely underestimated this storm. Left late after midnight. No traffic, cool and quiet. Please stay safe my friends. Property can be replaced, homes repaired. Life is precious. Stay safe my friends. Prayers for all of setx and swla.
  20. I know Pete Croak. I think that's his son. Great guy.
  21. Preseason next year. Stay safe my friend. WOS 2020
  22. We plan stay and ride it out. Generator is ready if we lose power. If turns into a long outage and we run out of supplies. Then we will move to a more comfortable location where things are more normal. Friends north of houston, or family in Waco. Prayers for all to be safe.
  23. Good luck to La Vega. Maybe we'll get another chance to play in the future.
  24. Got swept in Slam Diego. Back home vs Angel's and A's this week. Bregman out for 3 weeks.
