  1. You left out Caldwell, did they drop down to 3a?
  2. I get you, amazing what you can do with tape and the will to play.
  3. evidently we have one from the Dallas area. lol If it's not a Coaches poll , just junk science in my Opinion.
  4. I hadn't talked to anybody this week, Round tree must have had a good MRI?
  5. discipline comes easy when dealing with a bunch of rich kids, that are easily coachable
  6. Been a bad year for torn ACL 's , four defensive starters so far this year. I think one just had surgery, one is scheduled, one is gonna try and play, if not this week , the next, and the last one is waiting for MRI, don't see him playing this week though? You would think with the new rules knee injuries wouldnt be so bad, but its really hit hard. Just think if these kids were healthy and Tarver hadnt jumped in the creek and broke his foot, at the begining of the season, this would be a darn good defense right now.
  7. The Bleacher coaches will complain, but youll see a lot of deep fades thrown by Silsbee. The key is to throw away from the safety, and make a catchable throw. Short outs, screens, and tight end routes dont work against their defense. And with as many guys as they have in the box, you can't protect long enough to throw slow developing crossing routes. As far as running the ball, it's all about alignment, where does CT have the guy you cant block. When this is figured out you'll see the power work. Sweeps, bootleg , jet sweeps, don't work. It's a bigger chess game than people realize. QB has got to be good, and receivers have to make plays. The fact that these coaches and teams are so familiar with each other, tells me this will be a close game. Turnovers and refs will probably decide this one, one way or the other.
  8. I think third time to go four rounds, last year was only 2nd time to make semis. they only had to go 3 rounds to make semis the first time.
  9. Should know location around 10 am this morn, when C.T. gets done checking his cows, coaches will make a plan. lol likely Butch
  10. If it can be done , prob this year is the chance. Next few years are gonna be really good for the Stangs, unless they put Carthage in region 3, 4a div 2? That would suck for everybody. lol
  11. Does Bellville throw the ball ?
  12. Gilmer prob agrees with you. And if WOS gets there , it will be very interesting for sure.
  13. Don't over think what he is saying, my opinion, the Culture, coachability, having team leaders, parental support, and strong work ethic , is a lot more important than race. That's why having a winning program starts with the kids and parents at home and in January with a productive Off Season . But Lumberton still needs to recruit some kids from Bmt. to move in , and increase their speed . lol
  14. I don't know about so called racial mix, but Carthage has done a good job of getting the fat boys out of the welding shop and on the to field. Their O-line the last several years dominates. Yes its good scheme and coaching, but this day and time ,getting kids to come out into the heat and play, and lift weights all year, it is not an easy task. It's easier for kids to do other things, like chase girls, Deer, make money, or play video games. Just my observation.
  15. I meant to say stay in region 4. Your right , teams don't get so ruffed up as they move toward the semifinals. Cal Allen seems to compete well as they move this direction though.
  16. If you go by quality Mexican food, Brenham prob has dozen are more Mexican eateries. Maybe they should be in region 4.
  17. The only thing I know for sure is, If Buffs and Tigers have an eating contest at the Buffet , Buffs might win. They got some big boys. lol
  18. Where are Longhorn Fans? Whose got this one?
  19. Most Locals are not very proud of the legacy of the Chicken Ranch.
  20. Is it Friday yet? been a long week.
  21. Friday night 11-22, Wild Bull Dogs attacked a herd of cows, and were stomped to death by large Brahma Bulls. On Friday 11-29, those same Bulls were herded into a pen by a bunch of Wild Mustangs, then on Friday 12-6, all were eaten and devoured by Large Maroon Tigers, as they sang the Aggie War hymn .
  22. But thats the whole problem , when you make divisions equal, you get the bottom schools in each division too far apart number wise from the top schools in each division. That's the reason for splitting each division in the first place. 500 to 800 is already a big difference. I'm sure UIL has tried ever computer program they can find, to try and spit something out, but this is what we got. I would like to see bigger districts also, 5 team districts are a nightmare for coaches trying to schedule games.
  23. In 4a d2, lets combine districts, drop to 8 districts instead of 16. Take top 4 teams, play 5 rounds instead of 6. Do away with open week and play an 11 game schedule. Imagine combining districts 9 and 10 , have a 10 team district, playing 9 district games, 2 non district. Cut back to one scrimmage, and get 10 days of pads in the spring. You know most teams are playing out 4 qtrs in their scrimmages anyway. Some districts like 11 and 12, would have 12 teams, they would play 11 district games. I know all this will never happen, but it would sure make it easier for Coaches trying to schedule non district games. And Yall couldn't complain about 1-9 teams making playoffs.
