We could end up d2 if 2 of the 3 make playoffs... Academy, Rockdale, and Cameron. Academy should be a playoff team. Franklin, Thrall, and Academy should take the top 3 spots. It will come down to Rogers, Rockdale, and maybe Cameron for the 4th spot. Lexington QB that is going d1 could take a game from someone if he is on and the team he is playing is not. As of right now I would put Rogers in that 4th spot because of the run they had in the playoff. But baseball is a funny game and anyone can win on any given night. Huntington should be good once again and will most of region 3. 3A baseball pound for pound is the best in the State. 3A plays some really good baseball.

We meet again my friend. Good luck this year see you in the regional finals in May.

Good luck to y'all as well... We could end up d2 depending on how good Academy, Cameron, and Rockdale are this season. We are returning a good group of kids including 4 of our 5 pitchers.

Been hearing it all week at work lol…told them guys not to sleep on Wall. Have a nephew that plays for Idalou and saw first hand how good Wall was

I said the same thing... Newton fans got cocky talking about blowing this team out and how they could win 3ad1 this year. They counted their chickens before they hatched. I remember when Franklin was told that Canadian was going to blow them out in 2020 and wasn't given a chance. If not for a missed fg Franklin could have 3 peat. Wall is better then people let them to believe. Anyone who beats Gunter has a stout team.

Wall will have to rely more on their coaching and being in the right position on defense during those runs… probably not the first time they have faced a more athletic team. But Newton definitely is far superior team athletically speaking

Wall was at state in track and got 2nd in the 2×200, won a baseball championship, went deep in basketball and football. Wall definitely has athletes. Most don't want to give them credit because they are west trxas.

Just going off what few projections I have been privy to.

With 6A looking like it will drop from 2275 to somewhere around 2205-2225, then one has to think other cutoffs will drop as much as 40-60 across the board.

With 70% of all Texas schools having a decline in enrollment, the cutoff numbers have to drop some. How much they drop is the big question.

It all starts with 6A. UIL always wants 6A to have at least 245 schools. Most times it's around 250. With the numbers out, if they were to use the same cutoff as last realignment (2275) then 6A would only have about 220 schools. So therefore they will have to drop the cutoff in order to get the preferred 245-250.

This will cause a trickle down effect for the other cutoffs.

But to answer your question, I would guess that the 3A DI/DII cutoff would be somewhere at 345-350.

That was my thinking as well.... Moving up teams like Woodville, Holliday, ect from 3ad2 and moving teams like Orangefield up from 3ad1 to 4ad2 and keeping sinton 4ad2 for this next realignment.

I am with you, i just wonder why Mr Padilla being as resourceful and accurate as he is historically would base his projections on a slight rise in the cutoff versus a drop from last realignment.

Im notsure he has the resources that tell him the amount of students loss. But then again he could be completely right and we all wrong. I mean he has been doing this for years.
