From the state games ive watched most of the run heavy teams lost. I think you really have to have a balance attack
Newton wins tonight if they don't shoot themselves in the foot on 3rd downs with false starts. Coach burnt 2 timeouts when hh didn't need to. Newton had they're chances but could get out they're own way.

I'm calling BS and that's what it is. Pure unadulterated high school football game robbery, by prejudiced refs. Period.
🤣 your being serious which is crazy. All of the fouls were caught in film. Most false starts

Newton having to pass now and it shows they are not a passing team.
Wasn't a bad throw

Cmon we need wall to fumble, stumble, or something. That's some PI BS right there. The refs are prejudiced.
Yep that's the reason they are losing

Well that hurts

Plenty of time for newton... Wall had a big lead vs Gunter last week as well

Where are all these people that called for a blow out? @jds82 said Newton would score 50+ and win by 30. They still have a chance to win but got a uphill climb to make.

Some of the flags against the offense look questionable to me
The seem legit to me. I have no dog in the fight. Newton is just getting handled right now. Plenty of time to turn it around.

Good year for newton, they had spies on no.3 and 5. Just good coaching.Anywhere they went the linebackers followed. They had a good game plan. I do not think people knew just how good Gunter was.
Gunter is Gunter at the 3ad2 level had had not lost to a 3ad2 school since state 2021

Been hearing it all week at work lol…told them guys not to sleep on Wall. Have a nephew that plays for Idalou and saw first hand how good Wall was
I said the same thing... Newton fans got cocky talking about blowing this team out and how they could win 3ad1 this year. They counted their chickens before they hatched. I remember when Franklin was told that Canadian was going to blow them out in 2020 and wasn't given a chance. If not for a missed fg Franklin could have 3 peat. Wall is better then people let them to believe. Anyone who beats Gunter has a stout team.

Don't know what that has to do with anything but wall is not given credit as an overall program

Wall's also more athletic that many give them credit for...they did win state in track not long ago
This right here... most on here didn't give them a shot and called for a blow out.

Wall will have to rely more on their coaching and being in the right position on defense during those runs… probably not the first time they have faced a more athletic team. But Newton definitely is far superior team athletically speaking
Wall was at state in track and got 2nd in the 2×200, won a baseball championship, went deep in basketball and football. Wall definitely has athletes. Most don't want to give them credit because they are west trxas.

Don't forget that these will be for all sports now. Who ever is in your football district will also be in other sports as well now. Only the non football school would be added in. At least that is what im being told. We will have d1 and d2 in 1a-5a. 6a will stay the same.

Just going off what few projections I have been privy to.
With 6A looking like it will drop from 2275 to somewhere around 2205-2225, then one has to think other cutoffs will drop as much as 40-60 across the board.
With 70% of all Texas schools having a decline in enrollment, the cutoff numbers have to drop some. How much they drop is the big question.
It all starts with 6A. UIL always wants 6A to have at least 245 schools. Most times it's around 250. With the numbers out, if they were to use the same cutoff as last realignment (2275) then 6A would only have about 220 schools. So therefore they will have to drop the cutoff in order to get the preferred 245-250.
This will cause a trickle down effect for the other cutoffs.
But to answer your question, I would guess that the 3A DI/DII cutoff would be somewhere at 345-350.
That was my thinking as well.... Moving up teams like Woodville, Holliday, ect from 3ad2 and moving teams like Orangefield up from 3ad1 to 4ad2 and keeping sinton 4ad2 for this next realignment.

525 for 3A DI/4A DII cutoff
have you thought about what most schools cut offs would be? 3ad2/3ad1 ect? 525 seems like a good number imo

I am with you, i just wonder why Mr Padilla being as resourceful and accurate as he is historically would base his projections on a slight rise in the cutoff versus a drop from last realignment.
Im notsure he has the resources that tell him the amount of students loss. But then again he could be completely right and we all wrong. I mean he has been doing this for years.

i dont recall the number(s) ever dropping in my life time ? have they dropped before
They stayed the same last realignment and will most likely drop. Over 11,000 less kids this go around and most of the drop is 4a and under. I have seen multiple schools lose 50+ kids in the last two years.

I’ve heard the freshman is the real deal
He for sure is and he is the best player on the field even over the 3 star player imo. Yoakum got a steal when he and his brothers moved there from Marlin/Waco.

I did see some hardin fans say that Yoakum only beat Hitchcock by 4 and that they have the region final in the bag... saw that on Facebook as well. Can't look to far ahead.

All I know is Franklin better tighten up in that secondary or else they'll be going home before state. Those first 2 drives hurt Orangefield.
Our #1 cb didn't play in the first half either. We didn't even try to put pressure till 2nd half. Defense played vanilla and didn't show much and neither did the offense. We have played the #1 qb in the nation this year but its been a while since we got pushed a little. Franklin dominated from the start. Only group that disagrees with this statement are from the setx area. Qb went 13-29 most completions in the 1st half. This game could have been way worst.

Wall only had like 30 rushing yards so they weren't balanced either... one was better coached then the other.
