  1. Hey Duckbutter here i am admitting yall just kicked our A$$. No excuses just an old fashion out behind the woodshed butt whippin!!! Congrats Eagles good luck for the rest of the season!!!

Whewww....sure glad it turned out the way it did.... ;D  Dawgs need to put last week behind them and focus on making the playoffs. Lots of talent on that Jasper team and once they get the kinks worked out they very well could be the spoiler in district.
  2. Burkville is terrible this year...Deweyville by 28.  It's easy to talk about getting larger classification schools to play in predistrict but unless the smaller school has the reputation and ability to make it a game, most larger school won't play.  I do however feel that when a program is starting to turn around and the kids are LEARNING to win, stronger and bigger teams need to be played.  Small, weak teams build confidence and larger, stronger schools make you better and ready for the playoffs.

  3. Alto is scary good.  I remember some really good games between them and Groveton back in the 80's.

Alto had one of the fastest humans I've ever seen in person.  His name was Steve Loften.  They dropped the baton on the last exchange in the state meet (4x100) and he stopped, picked it up, and still won state for Alto that year.  Amazing how many good athletes they have...

I played in the same district with Alto and Groveton back in the mid-late 80's and Loftin was a HOSS, he still holds the 200 meter record at the region 3 meet.  I also ran track against him from the 7th grade until graduation and he could fly, never did beat him by the way.  He was a good guy and a team player.  Last I saw of him he was returning kicks for the Cardinals.  Brings back good memories......
  4. I still hate the spread offense and wish Jasper would go to something different in order to utilize that big O line.  Anyway, Newton looked much improved and played like a totally different team than they did against Crockett.  IMO Crockett was not as good as Jasper and Jasper should do well once district starts.  Good game Eagles and lets go Dawgs!

  5. I've trained a couple over the years and I learned that once a dog stops responding you need to take him back to the beginning of his training and refresh the basics for a week or two.  Only after he is responding and mastering the basic commands do you advace to the next step.  I use an E collar on my lab that I have now and rarely do I turn it on.  She will run triple blinds on land and water but likes to cheat sometimes, great hunting dog though.
