There's always been another level to get the boys to.

Coaching is the clear difference. Look at WOS a few years ago vs now.  No culture change, just a different coaching staff. PNG under this coaching staff goes to state with at least one of R Johnson teams.  Joesph takes over a Faircloth team and goes to state the next season. I’d go as far as saying that this current PNG staff would have took one or two of the 2014, 2015 Nederland teams to state. 

I’ve seen all 3 of these teams play this year (HF, Silsbee and Jasper) IMOP Jasper has the most talented team in the district but they are also the worst coached and undisciplined of the 3. Jasper would have beat HF without all the unnecessary roughness calls and poor offensive play calling. If HF and Jasper are lucky enough to meet in the 3rd round I’ve got Jasper winning but don’t see HF making it to round 3. 
 
Silsbee has the best player in the district in Miller and some other good complimentary receivers and RB. Silsbee has the best shot of of making the deeper run of the 3 teams. 
 
HF is well coached and has good talent but their offense line will be their downfall. Their QB is very accurate and the best in the district when given time to set his feet.  When he played Silsbee and Jasper he was throwing off his back foot all game and had no time to set his feet. He took some hug hits in both these games.  
 
With all that said, I wish all the teams in this district the best of luck and pray for the best. One thing is for sure they are battle tested.

It’s all about match ups. Crosby beat the breaks of BH twice and Nederland took 1 of 2 from Crosby and it could of been 2 of 2.  I haven’t seen GCM play but comparing common opponents isn’t always a accurate measuring stick. I expect a prepared Nederland team and that this game could go either way. 

Hefner all state? I don’t agree with that one. Lost in 2nd round and avg 6 pts a game in the playoffs. It seems a lot of selection are made by recruitment status and not results.  

Let me get all this straight! 
1. Yates are cheaters and recruit players but somehow do it legally by UIL rules? Yates also had a player ruled ineligible by the UIL but the other senior transfers were apparently given the green light by the UIL? So don’t this make them legit?  

2. Clay Davis is a sore loser and cry baby and he had to come up with a reason why him and he’s team got embarrassed. I don’t agree with his statement he made in the BMT enterprise although it doesn’t surprise me. He knew a beat down was coming. In my eyes that makes him a cry baby and sore loser. 
 
Time to move on and good luck to all the other area teams still alive. 

I honestly think most of the people that post negative things about Hefner are old schoolers. I’m a old schooler myself and back in the 90’s when you had a big D1 recruit on a team they dominated the game. They would score 30 plus a game no mater if they were doubled teamed or not. They stuck out like a sore thumb but times have changed. You look at the total makeup of Hefner and he has all the intangibles to become a big time player. He has a lot of things going for him that you can’t teach but he also has a lot of improving to do on the offensive end. He missed several layups, jumpers and free throws that he will have to learn to make if he’s going to have a successful college career which he’s capable of doing but he’s not there at this point. The bright side is he will have at least 4 more years to improve.

I believe the boys had a lot more to do with it in this one. Great game plan but Gipson and Seymour stepped up. In every game you have to have a game plan and boys have to execute. Great game dogs!!!!

Nederland clinched the outright district championship and look to make it a undefeated run in Dayton on 3-19. 
I've really enjoyed watching these seniors play. Best of luck moving forward the rest of the season and in life. 

I was a little frustrated with the tie and spoke out of anger. The coaches have done a good job with the girls and have also done somethings I don't agree with but hey it's their team. I'm going to support my daughter and her friends regardless. This is a regional tournament team so we will see if we can get there. 

I have no "dog" in this fight, however "dadofabulldog" is correct in his posting.  The only way to "win or lose" a game in District is during regulation play or overtime, once it goes to a shootout it is a "tie" and you will either receive 2 or 1 points in the standings.
Also during "overtime" there is no "golden rule" which means you have to play the 2 (10) minute halves completely, no one goal wins it, time has to be completed. If at that time one team has scored more than the other then they win (3pts) and the other loses, if not it goes to shootout, which at that time the teams "tie".

Is this a Varsity or JV tournament?

Nederland wins 9 to 0. Another shutout for Nederland. They have the most shutouts in the district and also congratulations on your district championship. Good luck in the playoffs!!!!!

What a fight by both teams! Hate anyone had to go home after this game!!!

I'm ready for this one. Should be a great game like always. This game could go either way.  May the best team win. No matter the outcome 225a will have at least 1 team representing in the regional tournament maybe even 2 if PNG takes care of buisness.  

Good tough win by the Tigers. I like there chances tomorrow more now than before. Nothing like a close game to get your focus right for the championship game. 

To paraphrase Gloria from White Men Can't Jump, sometimes when you win, you actually lose.  Porter is the last team from that district I'd want to play right now.  They are red hot, riding an 11 game win streak, I believe.  

Winwin, I agree with you. I think Flagg is better right now.  Jared needs to get stronger and improve on his free throws. I saw him air ball several free throws. I think Jared has a higher upside but if I had to choose one player for a game right now. I go with Flagg all day long. 

I wouldn't say that. Kelly has a good team and VP plays very lazy defense and they take very bad shots.
