I thought Lamar played a hell of a game on defense.   McNeese's recievers found the holes in Lamars secondary that comes with the experience of playing.  Lamars D-Line was outstanding in my opinion with the exception of maybe 3-4 plays.  The running game needs work but the passing was great (good recievers that know how to work the one on one open field).  seemed like they abandoned the running game but I do not blame them cause it was not working and McNeese could not stop the pass.  I think Bevil could have ran the ball a few times but I had the luxuary of sitting up in the stands and a birds eye view where he has the split second to decide.  Overall this games gives me optamisum for this season.  I am going bold and predicting [b]6[/b] wins for Lamar this year!!

[/quote] Texas A&I changed their name to Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 1993.  As a former student there I would know this.  And from a strictly football performance standpoint TAMUK would be a good thing.  Sure it would not put a whole lot of fans in the seats but it would help cause they are in the D-II top ten every year. 

I would see the WAC going after Montana real hard and think they would have to take Montana St. as a package deal. I could see them Going after maybe Tx. State and SFA and regional teams here.  I think Lamar and UTSA are just caught in a bad timing situation.  If Montana does not work out maybe they try and recruit Portland St.  I don't see any California schools getting called up because of the financial situation out there.

I have no problem with a start up pragram bringing in JUCO and transfer players.  It is better than Having a team full of freshman getting their butts kicked week in and week out and killing the confidence.   On the other hand [b]S[/b]econd [b]H[/b]and [b]S[/b]tate [b]U[/b]niversity brings in FBS QB's all the time it seems lately to get them into the playoffs but this is just a regular guy with an outside opinion on the situation

are they sending 3 teams to the playoffs in 1A?  If they do you could possibaly have a 1-9 team in the playoffs out of District 14-A (D-II).

Close game in Buna against amelia.  First off hats off to #17 for Amelia he pitched a heck of a game.  Buna scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th to tie it at 5 but Amelia got the winning run in the bottom of 7th.

The Franchise won the 13u Last chance select qualifier at Baseball USA over the weekend.  Their season record is 29-20-3 with a 12-5 in class record.  The Franchise is currently ranked #12 in the State in the 13u Select class.  This coming up weekend The Franchise will be at the State Tournament in Spring.
