The brackets have been released. There are 10 teams currently ranked in 3a and 4a in Silsbee's division 4A #1 Silsbee, #2 Argyle, #15 Abilene Wylie, #19 Liberty Hill, #22 Tatum, 3A: #4 Ponder, #9 Jarrell, #10 Brock, # 13 Peaster, and #16 Bowie. Also in the tourney Are Kennedale, Burkeburnett, Central Heights, Wall, Mexia, and Grapevine Faith. The Tigers will face Grapevine Faith in the pre bracket round, if they win they will face the Jarrell vs Brock winner in the first round. If they lost that one they will face the loser of Ponder vs Wall in the first game of the consolation bracket. Looks like a great tourney let the Tigers face some real good competition from similar size schools. We have faced up now let's see how we fare with similar size schools. i wish I could attend this one like I did last year, it was lots of fun!!!!

Lufkin was tired and not having their big man inside on defense was big as well. Many good drives and dishes last night for the Tigers. We do have to stop falling so far behind these better teams in the first half. Find a way to score and get more rebounds in that half.
-
That average team is still ranked what #7 in he state. Lufkin is pretty good but looks like they get a little wild and miss lots of lay ups or point blank shots. Something we in Silsbee are familiar with. I was impressed tonight on how the Tigers picked their places trying to get to the bucket and made the passes when the lane collapsed. Also watched us lay back off the press in the third and still make a run. The Tigers looked a lot better than the last two games I have seen. Still lots of work to be done. We can't get up for one game and play well then lay back the next. Still a good win for a team that has only had a couple practices as a whole unit.

No dunks even better the win!!

Devon did not play.

Sorry guys but there was no service in the gym whatsoever. Unless you knew how to access their wifi. The Tigers looked much better tonight. Lufkin just couldn't handle the defensive pressure in the second half. The Tigers also set up and passed the ball better tonight. Moved the ball around better than what I saw last Friday. I can't remember making more than 5 3s tonight. Bruce Newton hit 3 of 4 fts late to close it out. Overall seemed like a good night at the line. The size inside was tough on the Tigers in the first half but Lufkin was switching the big guy in for offense and out for defense late in the game which was a good benefit. I am sure he was in foul trouble.

Great game and effort Tigers!!! Good to see fts made'

RAISIN' CANES (FBISD) TOURNAMENT/POST UPDATES HERE!
ST413 replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Would liked to see the Tigers play a little better Saturday, heard it wasn't a very inspired effort. I don't like hearing that but was a little more worried about the results before I looked at Hightowers results of previous games including A blow out win over ridge point thT we had a tough game with and a 2 point loss to Travis. Hopefully the Tigers learn from this get a little practice under the, and turn it up! -
Was told by a player that game in Lufkin will be about 6:30 as there is only 2 games and first will be at 5.

Two tough games for my Tigers but I am not worried at this point. We have to remember this they have only had two practices as a complete team. We are still dealing with an injury or two even though they played. Not to mention the first loss was to a very good team. Now have another very tough game Monday without another practice. I don't feel like we will really see just how good this team can be until maybe the HJ game. I don't know that they will be up to par by the whataburger tourney. And don't think they will be challenged real well in district until HJ. -

What's the story in this one!? Hightower that much better or are we not playing well? -
I take it Robinson was #1. I can't believe he actually missed 7 3s it looked like he made about 8 in a row In That one stretch in the first half!!! Talk about a touch and shoot ability. I am proud of the way my Tigers came out and played in that second half. At halftime I didn't think they would even reach the 42 pts that Bush scored in the first half. There was no doubt who the better team was tonight , it just looked worse integer first half than it really was. Bush came out and took control and made us look like PNG did against us! They kept us out of the paint, forced turnovers and out rebounded us badly. The Tigers seemed to help them out being overwhelmed. We settled down an played better and harder in the second half especially in the third qtr.

Al this BS from BS!! We Tigers know we got it handed to us tonight! Bush is good and took it to us. But I think we came in a little uneasy or something as well. Didn't look like ourselves in that first half. We settled down and looked a lot better I the second half. Good learning experience. Just wish it would have been a better showing.

Bush is the better team but the gap isn't as wide as it looked in the first half.
