  1. Yep, Spurger put 79 on Chester.

The starting five played the entire first quarter and then the second string went in. Only one starter stayed in at a time just to guide the second string along. In fact, Spurger imposed a 5 pass minimum before any shot and no player could make two baskets in a row. It is hard to tell a player that has worked hard to not score, so they will still score. The only hope that a coach would have is that the scoring will be limited or damped some.

Yep, Spurger still put 79 on Chester. I was not at the Goodrich ot Leggett games with Chester, but I appears to me that those two teams set out to put 100+ on a under-manned, under-skilled team.

Having watched Chester play this year, they never gave up and played hard till the buzzer. My tip my hat to them.
  2. Glad to see that Goodrich showed restraint and sportsmanship in this game. Must have been hard to hold back running up the score on an obviously weaker team.

Let's see Goodrich run up the score and bust 100 points against a team that has more than 5 or 6 players and that those 5 or 6 are upperclassmen. Too bad we didn't see the REAL Goodrich against teams liket Leggett, Spurger, Burkeville or any team that they may face in the playoffs.
  3. True Blue, they will not let you sit behind the bench. The visitors must sit in the bleachers on the opposite side, while the home fans get the seats behind the benches.

You will notice the people that stand directly behind the visitor bench and say all kinds of foul mess. I assure you, you have not seen anything like it before. Keep an eye on the Leggett coach as he is as bad or worse than the fans.

My suggestion is that Evadale trys to rise above it and keep cool as this is what they live for.
  4. This is for 6thman.
I went to the UIL Athletics page (http://www.uiltexas.org/athletics/) and there is contact information on the left hand side of that page. I would start there.

I suspect that diving off into that pool will be like most other dealings with schools. Maybe someone else could chime in here, but I have found that anytime you deal with a governmental entity, you will drown in red tape and policy. Your concern will most likely die a slow death.

    Good luck.
  5. Catman, I agree with you that it would be interesting to see how those folks from Evadale deal with the behavior on display in Redhorse.

I will be looking for the comments about how wonderful it is for the coaches and fan to use vulgar language towards the players & fans, especially when it becomes racial.

Once that tread (Evadale vs Leggett) gets started, I expect to see how others think this will turn out.
