  1. Congrats Trae! Awesome young man and baseball player, LU did very well with this one! We are proud of you!
  2. Well congrats to Caleb! Makes sense why he would go back to DQ, but I know the guys on the baseball team sure hate to hear he will no longer be a Cardinal! Good luck to Caleb tho we will miss ya!
  3. His name was given by coaches to Dave Campbell's magazine and was one of the players to watch..............................so they apparently thought he was going to be. Did Caleb go back to Dequincy?
  4. I would be happy with 3rd for BC considering the teams they have in the district! I don't see them beating WOS or Silsbee, I just the team to give them a game and a little competition. Now it would be very exciting if they could slip up on one of these two teams, but personally I think that is fantasy football, but I guess stranger things can happen. I hope they have a winning season, especially for the seniors that have been playing the game for years, Luke, Josh, Devin, Zach are the ones that come to mind. Again, third would be GREAT in my opinion!
  5. Congrats Jacob! Great catcher and a very nice kid!
  6. Congrats Jace! Now I recall the fight we had ongoing back in the Gladiator days (12U) with my maroon and your burnt orange! You have seen the light, lol! And I can't wait to see you play there!
  7. Thanks 007, you answered what I needed to know and that is what I thought, that utlimately the names came from the coach.
  8. Joe I was told for sure, a couple of others, whose names I won't say simply because that's their decision and place to say, have been talking about not playing. And I would guess that maybe these athletes feel like they have a better chance playing baseball at the next level and have the exposure and backing in the baseball program. Maybe they don't want to chance getting hurt playing football, who knows. Guess they will do what makes sense to them when it's time to make that decision.
  9. Not sure about BC, I know they lost alot of seniors and some that have played varsity several years are going strictly baseball or so I am told.
  10. How does this mag come up with info on each team? Like players to watch, does the school's AD send that into them, or the coaches or what? Just curious as who throw's the names out there. I am pretty sure I have the answer (I am talking about Bridge City) and I assume it comes from our AD, but wanted to see what others thought.
  11. just read the story on i-dineout.com.............................looks like a terrible accident from the pics. Prayers for this young man!
  12. Prayers from Bridge City for the family, friends, team! What a tragic loss, and a parents worst nightmare! I have 17 and 15 yr old boys and both think I worry too much and think nothing will happen to them. They will both read all these posts and hopefully how quickly something can happen will sink in. Just remember to hug your kids everyday and tell them that you love them!
  13. I am really confused! My son rec'd a call days ago, was told to be at Lamar at 8 and would play at 9, but he is 3A and will be a senior. HELP Admin! I need some direction here, lol!
  14. What a team! Congrats to all the players! Would love to see this group as a team take the field against someone....................wow!
  15. Anyone know how all this works? Does each class (seniors, juniors etc) have a team or how are they divided up into teams? Know there is a game at 9 a.m..........................anyone have any info?
  16. Luke and Dylan from Bridge City..................may be more from Cards but these are the only two I know that will be playing.
  17. We are all probably all guilty of being "coaches in the stands". If a play does not work, we more than likely say he (she) should not have done that, we would never have called that play, he should've........... and on and on. Point is, we are not the coach, and it's so very easy to second guess a call or a play that didn't work. But if it does work, he or she is the greatest! There are some that disagree with the agressiveness of the baserunning calls.........................but the prior coach was not agressive enough according to some. I guess we as parents and fans are never totally satisfied in any situation. My whole point in this is, Coach Landry is in his first year in BC and the team was regional semi-finalist. Not bad at all! I think BC will continue to improve under this coach. AND, I had no problem with Coach Bryant, my son had nothing but good to say about him, and in the end, that is what matters as these kids are the ones that are up close and personal with these coaches. Again, great season, and the future looks good for the Cards!
  18. Way to go, Carthage! Now, take it to them in game 2!
  19. I still think that BC had a very good shot at giving them a good game until all the commotion, but like you said this is a discussion board, and the people posting on the incident are free to post about it and what they saw. You accuse BC fans of whining about losing, which I don't think that was the case, but I see you also accused people of whining about losing on the softball forum. Bottom line is, BC players gave them a 10 inning game the first night and it could've gone either way, then beat them the 2nd game, and you seem to imply that they were beat from the beginning of the 3rd game.................how do you figure that? Seems to me they held their own with SH for two games, did they not? Bridge City had an outstanding year, as a fan I have enjoyed many hours of watching them play, I am not whining because they lost, just don't believe they should have been the only team that got an ejection in the third game AND I was there and could see exactly what happened and it was not right. Water under the bridge tho, season is over and the SH team moves on..............................................and I hope Carthage romps all over em.
  20. Good luck Dogs! Stay focused, keep doing what you have been doing all year and I believe you will go all the way! We are supporting you from BC since we are sitting home > > :(
  21. jacf, were you at the game? And if so, you did not see anything wrong with one player getting tossed and the other let play? Just curious as to what you saw. I am a BC fan, know what happened, didn't say our player should not have been tossed, but said the other one should have also. I don't recall whining about losing, I do know that the incident COULD HAVE changed the outcome of the game, and how do you know that had this not happened that BC would not have scored 10 the first inning, and the other team might not have score any in the 3rd? And several times you have stated that BC should've won the first game when they had the opportunity, can you please tell me what you mean by that? Are you implying they lost on purpose? Just not sure where you are coming from with that.
  22. Not sure, but I think the refs should all four have to sit down with their peers, watch the tape and explain why they did what they did and did not do in the situation. They can sure control a game and it's their job to be equal to both teams.
  23. I think the "incident" changed the whole momentum of the game. Our player gets tossed, but #20 purposely goes up to him as he is leaving the field and pokes him and pushes his chest several times and that's okay? My whole problem is that these umps have to call both ways and be fair about it, but that was not the case. And 20 continued to mouth at players and coaches all night, guess they thought that was okay also. As stated by another poster, yes, BC had several errors that cost them, misjudged balls, overthrows, etc. and there was not much of that done by SH, they had very very few errors in the three game series, so would the outcome have been the same without all this mess happening...............I am not sure, BC was up from winning game 2, so that is something we'll never know. Just think the umps should have been fair in calling the calls and that was not how it happened, the calls benefited SH totally in the last game and they turned a deaf ear and a blind eye on things the SH players did and said. In a game like that, should not have been that way.
  24. Great season Cardinals! Ended a little sooner than you wanted it to, but you guys had a great year. Just wanted to say thanks for hours of great baseball you gave us fans this year and seniors, thanks for all the memories.........and to most of you, those memories started in Little League, thru Pony and high school. You will all be sorely missed especially by the younger guys that have been with you throughout the years. Good luck in all that you choose to do, you are an exceptional group of young men! This fan is proud of all of you!
