Might be Green’s best coaching job if they make it.  At best, probably the third most talented team in that region. By a good bit.

I would argue they're the deepest team in the state. Wouldn't be a shocker to me if they won it all.

They legitimately have 10-12 kids that will play college ball. There are a few I'm not counting in that number that will be Seniors and played JV last year that have college offers.

He is a heck of a player who, in my opinion, does not get the recognition he deserves for such varied (but poor) reasons as " he didn't play AAU with a national type team " and " he doesn't have a state championship  on his resume"

He's the best true PG from this area I've ever seen/coached. He did play a short stint with a "national based team" but politics got in the way with some Houston kids that he was clearly better than so he went back local. In my opinion, it hurt him temporarily, but once school ball kicks off and BU makes a deep run, there will be many programs offering him to start day 1 like Lamar is. That's really what it's about for him. He just wants to play.

    Exactly.

Every ranking that I have seen (and these rankings are from some very good experts in ranking players who see these guys play at the highest levels of summer ball) have Hefner well ahead of Harrison.

Just on the small amount of what I have seen of these two, I would have to put Hefner ahead of Harrison. But I will let the real experts decide this debate.

I value what Jim and Doug have to say.

I really don't think it's a decent margin like some are suggesting. Most of these guys recruitment happen on the AAU scene and Hefner has played with a high level team(Houston Defenders) for a good while, and Kasen has stayed loyal to the area for the most part and hasn't spent much time on The Circuit. I think once he puts together a state championship run this year and finally takes his ACT/SAT, he's gonna get some bigger offers and will really have some tough decisions to make.

kaysen harrison is the best basketball player in setx he has everything you want in a guard

    speed

    quickness

    bounce

    handle

    he can shoot it

    change of pace

    leadership

    finishing around the rim

As much as I want to agree with this, I got to be real here. Hefner at this point, is better than Kasen.

There are some things that Kasen needs to do to take that spot.

    1. Effectiveness finishing with the left. Yes, I know he's left handed but he almost always finishes with the right and it's going to hurt him at the next level if he doesn't. I've worked with him on this for awhile and it's a very difficult thing to break, but he can do it.

    2. Pull-up jump shot. Not having to really use it much because he is such a great finisher, he gets away with attacking the defenders chest at the rim because he's very strong and athletic. I've seen him struggle in the Circuit with bigger players in this situation. Oklahoma also suggested he work on this as well, so hes definitely on the radar for other big schools.

Hayden is getting his head above the rim, he's taller, better shooter, better finisher with the left. I think it's close but I don't see how anyone can put Kasen above him right now. I hope he does get ahead of him though. He will definitely have the better team this year.

Dang.  I was really talking this kid up and couldn't wait to see him do his thing this year.  I hope he makes a full and safe recovery.

Yeah, he was just starting to get some good D1 offers too, even with a transition from Tomball last year. There were a few other players involved, Johnson is fine he will be ready for the season had very minor injuries and the other kid I dont know personally but I think he had surgery on his neck, maybe broke it? He might be back.

Wow.   Had no idea Holland was one of the players  hurt in that accident!

Yes, went and saw him in the hospital a day after the accident and he has already had surgery and started rehab...West Brook wants to have him back by the 4th week but i highly highly doubt he will be ready.

    WO-S - Elijah Gales RB

United - James Wilson III RB

    Silsbee - Raymond  Foster QB

    Christopher Martin RB

    Dralyn Taylor - RB

    Antonius Arline - RB

West Brook - Ja'Kobi Holland RB

Just a few off the top of my Head...

Holland is very likely out for the year with a broken femur sustained in the accident with the other West Brook football players.

So this is Lofton's big offer?  What does Clover have for his big offer?

Lamar, Texas State and UTSA I think. Lofton is an interesteing prospect because he hes not near as athletic but he has decent footwork and a nice mid range game. I still don't have him over Nate, but that could change this year.

Every player state rankings list I have seen has Hefner top 20. That includes Hicks and Doug Jones. Highest I have seen Harrison is like 55.

Going by the offers alone, Hefner is by far the best in the area.

Kasen will fly up those rankings this year imo. There should be no question about this United team being favorites to win state and I think he should be an all-state selection also. I can see him in top 25 soon. He was advised by UH to hold off his commit to Lamar after destroying one of their top recruits Jamal Shead on campus a few weeks ago, but he felt most comfortable with Lamar being his first offer. So after he takes his SAT and ACT and a run at a state championship he should definitely get bigger offers, he just hasn't been on "The Circuit" as much as Hayden has.

  10. No, the rankings are usually a pretty good gauge, but with having both kids play with me and against my teams for the last 5 years I can tell you Hefner is the real deal and the best talent I've seen in SETX since J'Covan Brown. The BIG games you speak of are rarely in school ball unfortunately. They come at Live events in July and Hayden plays at an extremely high level. These kids know that school ball now has taken a back seat to AAU and as bad as I hate to admit that, it's the truth. They get their offers at AAU tournaments mostly, not after a high school game.

Edit: Kasen is probably the best Traditional PG come out of this area, but he's not the best overall player and that comes from someone that has spent hours and hours in the gym with him. It's also a motivation for him.

Sure.  K. Harrison right now is head and shoulders IMO better than  the next best kid in this area.  And Heff is NOT the second best player in this area, IMHO. I can elaborate more, but we have until mid March to confirm my suspicions for the past 3 years...

LOL I'm very biased of Kasen but Hefner, who's pretty close to 6'7 now, is ranked like 14th on 24/7 in the state of Texas. Kasen has some flaws that have kept him from being in that category(shooting off the dribble, using his left hand at the rim more) right now, but he puts in work every day. Hefner is on another level, his ceiling is limitless.
