Huntington had 318 yards of offense?!?!? WOW! I would like to know how they accomplished that? by run or pass? Mixing both? Any standout guys on offense for the Red Devils? Heard they don't have any speed though....
-
Did Huntingtons good little RB #22 Cuu Duong play or is he still injured?
-
West Hardin is so over-rated it isn't even funny. Why they started out the year in top 25 I still don't know, them DCTF guys who made it must have visited Dr. Feelgood right before that was made.
Groveton took them way back behind the woodshed and Groveton is barely beating avg. 2a schools.
They didn't do nothing last year, only won 1 district game and that was against the "thump-thump" school Kountze!!
Hull-Daisetta will win that district! 8)
-
Someone at the game the other night told us they were 6-6 with Buna at half.
I don't think people realize just how good this Alto team is this year!
-
The Yellowjackets of Alto will be awaiting in round 2 for HD/Groveton-Colmesneil, whichever of them 2 get in! 8)
-
The Crockett/Newton matchup will be a good one also. Remember, Crockett won their distirct last year, which included Palestine, and they return 10 starters from a real good defense last year, they were very young.
I saw them on film and the D' was very fast.
We played their 7-7 team and they had some good looking athletes, QB was pretty solid as well.

All of you WH, HD and other fans who have 1a teams should join 1atexasfootball.com Not many representatives from the East Texas area so come on over and help us out!!

Does anybody know when DCTF will hit the shelves so we can buy it!?!?!?!?

whsalum,
I actually think Lovelady has the best chance of winning that district, they return the majority of their playoff team from last year. Groveton will be interesting to watch, they should have made playoffs last year but something wasn't right their. We played them and other than the RB Horace who graduated, their really wasn't a "stand-out" player on offense for them that I saw. Out of about 150 yards of total offense against us, Horace probably had 130 of it. Maybe they will have something comeing up or others develop better.

I think this district will get swept by 23a in round 1 of playoffs! 8)

Elkhart is pretty good, but not as good as last year. Have a real solid pitcher in Austin Evans. Catcher Brooks is good and can hit it a long ways. They can be suspect from time-to-time in the field. I think Woodville will win.

MustangFan,
I read 1atexasfootball.com and smoaky.com. I havn't seen any Alto posters say anything about winning state or saying we will "roll to the big game" Posters from other towns have picked Alto as their pick, but no one from Alto has made any "big-headed" prediction.
I do think we will have a great team with the potential to do something great, but we are playing a killer non-district schedule which includes your always tough Mustangs on it which will only help prepare us for playoff time.
Truthfully, their are hardly any people from Alto that post on message boards.

Thanks fellas' we are playing both this year and wanted to know. Our coach said the Huntington AD told him they would be much improved this year. I saw film on them this year against Rusk, they were actually leading at half. BIG , but very slow. Not a lot of D' on the film I watched and special teams were horrible. They seem like to me they are just so used to losing and they don't have any of that "want-to" in them. But I guess we will find out soon. We are coming to Burkeville territory this year so we'll see some of you guys their!
-
What was the football score last year between Burkeville and Huntington? I believe they played last year.
-
Yeah someone told me that, wasn't their line pretty young last year? I thought their QB and some of their RB's graduated though???
-
What all do the Burkeville Mustangs have returning as far as starters and who are some of their players to watch next year? I know they run the old school wishbone but other than that I don't know much about them. We play them for our 3rd game and trying to find a little info. about them ;jhj

Alto
As an Alto fan, I think our team has a great chance to do something special next year. In no way at all do we think just because we dropped that we will "win-it-all" so don't get that impression about us. We have a great coaching staff lead by Coach Keith Gardner and amazing athletes/talent. I know our kids have been working hard since November and are ready to go! We are playing a brutal non-district schedule with two 3-way scrimmages against Elysian Fields/Harleton and Corrigan-Camden/Palestine Westwood and non-district schedule which consists of: San Augustine, Timpson, Burkeville, Hemphill, and Huntington.
We can't wait for the season to start and I hope to talk good football with you guys throughout the year!

Well, Alto took Huntington way back behind the Woodshed tonight, and I mean way back, 67-0!
