I am fixing to make some people mad but oh well vidor coaching staff should be ashamed of the way the team came out after a bye week no excuses, and our running game at every position is soft we don't break any tackles SMDH
-
I know this is a little off topic but the games there were scheduled for Texan live does anyone know if they will still broadcast the games

Not true. I know I’m jumping in here, but with nickel, dime and cover 1 the corner and/or SS has some run responsibility. Also on a safety or corner blitz, the secondary has run responsibility. There’s several more schemes when teams load the box on a predominantly running team that gives the secondary run responsibility.
Btw, I played O & D line in high school & O Line in college & coached Oline as a GA in college and I knew that...Well of course everyone on the field is trying to make the tackle but to say the reason we will lose is because the secondary is soft in the run is nuts, it is every coaches goal to get to the 3rd level in the run game

Unless Splendora has some hard running backs then Vidor should win. Vidors secondary is questionable against the run, they just won't come up and make tackles. Then when they do it's either arm tackling or they are trying to do a passionate pasa doble dance .
Bro you are absolutely clueless last time I checked if the secondary is making tackles in the running game me and everyone else didn't do there job so saying the secondary is awful against the run is like saying the dline needs to work on there pass coverage SMDH

That offense doesn’t need a bunch of plays when it is ran right. There is a reason why you see simple qb keeper busting it for 25 yards on 3rd and long. The offense is about execution and repetitiveness with little wrinkles. Vidor does it better than most.
I disagree it is fine when you play schools that you can physically manhandle but when you play schools like jasper there has to be more to it I have watched all 3 games vidor has played this year the offense is the most predictable offense I have seen in yrs the thing that makes the slot t great is misdirection jet sweep and toss and fb dive is not misdirection I was really expecting to see more out of the playbook tonight against jasper thought they was holding out for this game but I was wrong and what they got is probably good enough to win district but not a deep playoff run but no matter what I will always bleed black and gold kids played super hard last night get healthy and go win district
-
Is it just me or does Vidor have 4 plays in the playbook kids played hard jasper is a very good football team vidor won't see another team that good until the playoffs hope we get healthy and start district strong
-
Well it's gameday no doubt Jeff will have the kids ready to go tonight. We have got to play a much cleaner game tonight, we can not give them short fields or easy touchdowns. Not many people outside of Vidor is giving us much of a chance I like playing as an underdog hopefully we shock the world. Time for the black pearl to set sail down Hwy 96. Let's go Pirates
-
I look for this to be a very competitive football game I know Vidors first 2 games they were sloppy if they continue that this week it probably won't go there way but I look for them to clean things up with the 3rd game a pull out a close win on the road

Brazosport was 1-0 with the one win a blowout.
Bay City is 3-0
Then Vidor plays Jasper. Unless the Raiders pull a BIG upset, Jasper will be undefeated. Tough three non-district games.
Bay City has had an easier time. They won’t be a pushover, but if Vidor plays good ball, they should win this one. Vidor by 14.
I agree if Vidor shows up they should beat bay city but they can't let them hang around like brazosport

Bay City is 3-0 coming into this game.
Week 1 - Beat Sweeny 21-15
Week 2 - Beat Edna 41-11
Week 3 - Beat Wharton 42-31
Looks like their big offensive gun is their QB, Avery Smith. He is 21-50 for 422 yds, 5 TD and 1 pick. He is also their leading rusher, 45 carries for 455 yds and 3 TD. Their other big rusher is Dada Curtis who has 41 carries for 262 yd and 4 TDs.
They'll be a tough out.
Brazosport beat sweeny 50-7 they haven't played a team that is very good yet this will be there first test

I like vidor by 21 in this one

I am very grateful I got to watch the pirates tonight on Texan live but whoever the announcer was is either blind or don't pay attention I think he called our qb Dylan root about 10 times 😆

I agree that the verdict is still out on our offense but the defense is of no concern.
Are these tickets all inclusive ,including air fare ? Lol
Hey brother if you are really needing 2 tickets I got 2 extra just gotta get with Friday at the gate and pick them up time for the black pearl to set sail pirate nation 2020

I just don’t take much from the scrimmage against 3a Hemphill. I was there. I do like our defense. The verdict still out on the effectiveness off the offense. I believe the offense will look better in the 2nd half of games being that a lot 4a teams have kids going both ways. Either way I know the kids have worked hard an are ready to play some football. Go Pirates!
Yes sir with all going on ready to see some Friday night lights

Well that’s good to know but just because we’re in 4a that doesn’t mean it’s going to be a cake walk. If they bring it like they did in 5a they should have some success. Ready for some Friday Night Football! Go Pirates!
Oh I agree completely we have proved nothing yet and regardless of how the season goes the defensive units we face won't be near what we faced last year
-

Interesting, based on what? And if your right then it’s good to know if the starting QB goes down the QB from last year can step right in.
Based on the fact that when the qb went down for a bit in scrimmage he stepped right up offense never missed a beat and the team won't be playing teams like png, Crosby, barber's hill, nederland

Pretty strange right, starting QB for one program and on the bench for another program. I think he will do fine because he finished the season as our QB his Sophomore year and did pretty well.
There's no doubt the kid will be successful the team won't play near the competition but that guy has been bashing last yrs qb and hb since last yr I promise you this if last yrs qb was still the qb the team would have just as much success that is a fact

Honestly, I don't think they're gonna need another Quirante this year. This team was going to be this year. good even if they stayed in 5A. That defense is pretty well rounded and very STOUT . The defense was imo the best in their district last year. I say that because they were on the field the entire season with the offense being absolutely horrible. They still managed to finish the year with good numbers regardless of playing 10 times the downs of most defenses in the district. That defensive line will give people fits and the secondary is very good. They have their QB back who already showed potential when he played for them two years ago. He's a true QB. Unfortunately , png held him hostage on their sideline last season.
I don't think PNG held anyone hostage I believe it was a move the young man made on his own and let's see how things progress before we start appointing ourselves as the big bad bully they scrimmaged 1 good team so far and put up 0 points so let's not get carried away and if the same kid that played qb last yr would be the qb this year they would have the same success just because he wouldnt be playing near the talent he did last yr so hold your horses just a bit your qb played 1 opp. And put up a goose egg

Yes sir we have been out coached all yr and the qb is good if he has a big hole other than that he is soft and we run him way to much what a disappointment this is
