Been to more games than you can imagine. In the stands and on the sidelines… and no I didn’t not make the game but watched every snap on texanlive.  Also, ran into a Coach last night that was scouting both teams…and I quote…”I wish our program was ran the way Mathews runs Vidor. He gets more out of those kids than any coach in the state! And I’ve been around coaching for 30+ years” do I have blinders on…possibly, but I stand by what I said. If you or any other so called fan, supporter, resident think they can do a better job…fill out the application! If not sit down and stfu! 😉

I tell you what ask your mom if it would be ok if you go to the game Friday night and we can watch it together, and about another coach aspiring to be the vidor program what is that 500 winning percentage and a round 1 exit every other decent school in the area that gets you let go, but not in vidor we are losers so any little success is treated like a super bowl win. I like the coach think he is a great guy, and motivator but x's and o's not so much. Why cant people that just call it like they see it be right sometimes

You make some valid points but I disagree with you on the bulking up. My son plays on the Freshman team. He tells me what they do for conditioning at School, an it’s workouts that help put on bulk. A lot of the kids take creatinine in moderation to help bulk up. He’s put almost 30 lbs on his frame since last year at this time with most of it being muscle. Of course he’s at that age of growing but he works his tail off to get bigger, stronger and faster. Whatever he doesn’t feel like he gets at school he goes to our 24 hr fitness gym we belong to an puts in extra work. There’s always other kids up there putting in the extra work from freshman to JV to Varsity football players. So I disagree on the conditioning part.

At the end of the day I think the coaches are trying to do the best with what they got. I definitely don’t have all the answers that’s why I am not a coach.

Improvement can be made on tackling, taking proper angles to make the tackles, blockers staying on their blocks till the sound of the whistle and being disciplined on false starts.

Other than that they just have to learn from last night and keep working hard. I know it’s hard to watch sometimes.

Well I just see it as a whole we don't have kids that bulk up, is there some exceptions to the rule absolutely there are I just personally don't think football players should train like navy seals and cross fit guys maybe I am wrong I sit in the stands also, but I also believe the lack of effort last night was awful maybe they can fix that with some but that is not a good sign

Just For discussion sake…what would you do differently with the kids you saw playing last night? Different offense? Different Defensive Scheme? The floor is yours.

Here's the deal silsbee was the better team regardless, but not developing qbs is a joke every year we try someone new at qb that has never played it before so they are learning the offense on the fly so we are basic watch other slot T offenses they run misdirection not us, the tackling was awful last night that can be fixed. But our off-season is solely based on conditioning and training like navy seals the kids don't bulk up at all we get pushed around and it shows, nothing will change until something changes

Looked like a pretty small team too, in size and numbers. I didn’t see any running backs that impressed me, no broken tackles or big runs. Bad formula and all around bad showing. Maybe the coaches can mix up the personnel but now I see why there was a lot of talk about more guys playing both ways. Apparent lack of depth but even more concerning was the apparent lack of effort.

Yes sir I agree 100% maybe 3 kids played with heart last night

If I could I would be there…but I’m out of town drinking cold adult beverages soaking up some RnR

So about that conditioning, would you like your crow fried or smothered if you had went to the scrimmages you would have seen the writing on the wall this team is bad

going 8-2, grabbing the #1 seed, and limping to the playoffs with a bunch of JV and freshman players is settling mediocrity against a team that played "awful" that went to the state semis and barely lost to the eventual state champs.

like  Chad Johnson once said, "CHILD PLEASE!"

No brother settling for mediocrity is you take montana out of vidor we have zero playoff wins this isn't a 1 yr thing and if you don't see that I can't help you like I said on another post most vidorians can't see the truth through there black and gold glasses

2 choices…go hate on someone else or go hold your breath under water.

Dont get your feelings hurt just trying to understand, it's all good brother I will be there tonight cheering for the pirates maybe you will be right, I just call it like I see it

Key word…”last year” I don’t judge this years team off of last years results. Vidor plays their game and controls the ball, that will limit the number of offensive snaps for Silsbee. Meaning less plays on the defensive side of the ball for Vidor. As far as “sucking egg” it’s to be expected. Scrimmages are the first time players are put in a live game situation. Takes time to get your regular season legs under.

Gotcha so we are going from sucking eggs last week to winning tonight on conditioning I understand now I hope your right but it's hard to see through my black and gold color glasses

Perfectly fine if it comes to conditioning. Vidor is well condition and capable of having multiple players going both ways for 4 qtrs.

We will see they was sucking eggs at the scrimmages not saying we can't win just don't see it happening like last yr in a big comeback

CH missed a handful of home run throws. Should've, could've, would've, doesn't win you games or "should" of been a blowout. Vidor was driving deep in CH territory when somebody calling plays wanted to throw it on 4 consecutive downs. It is what it is... Vidor gave them all that they wanted and barely survived.🥴

I am from vidor and a vidor fan but it really makes me laugh at how one sided vidor fans are just call it like it is vidor was lucky to be in that game CH played awful, just call it like it is, Vidor fans are the only fans in golden triangle that settle with being mediocre yr end and yr out. Nothing will change until things change

Turnover free football and this will come down to conditioning.  Hands on the hips could mean a win for the Pirates.

Don't think you want this one coming down to conditioning with several key guys playing both ways

please elaborate on how CH dialed it down? im genuinely curious on your analysis of this game.

Vidor was very fortunate be even be in that game the CH qb missed several throws with guys running wide open that game should have been a blow out CH was clearly the better team

  13. If silsbee gets up early like they did last yr I don't see this vidor team fighting back late in the game, not that I think the vidor team will lay down this team has more 2 way players than I can remember in along time. If they stay healthy conditioning will improve and they will get better but this week I got silsbee 38-21

  14. This is a tough matchup for the pirates chapel hill is a well coached football team that will be ready. They have plenty of athletes that can take it to the house on any play, this is going to be tough for the young pirate secondary. This game will be all about ball control and not getting behind. If Vidor can pull this one out round 2 matchup should be much easier with a game probaly against kilgore in the 3rd round, Vidor has proved to always fight to the end good luck guys go get a victory
