  1. crosbys defense has played lights out without a doubt but 7 yds total offense for an entire half is horrible. I don't look for humble to put up to many points on dayton. Also 1-15 passing is only 1 completion away from no passing game. Dayton will be starting 2 sophmores at left guard and tackle on the oline. They are both huge but very young and I think they will continue to improve as the year goes on. This game should be a good test for our entire oline which doesn't have a senior on it and we will see if they can give our little sophomore rb room to breathe. Dayton has a long ways to go but last week was a nice improvement. I'm waiting until the end of the week before I even try to guess on who or why either team will win. I'm hoping the broncos have another good week of practice and maybe picked up a little confidence with Fridays win.

You will get no argument from me about the Humble Offense.   It is horrible.  However, if you don't have a defense capable of stopping RB Terio Brown...it always provides us the chance to win.   He can score from anywhere on the field, and that is a beneficial for an otherwise inept offense. We don't need to be offensive juggernauts to win with a defense like ours.     We just have to have him producing.... he produces, we should have a shot.

  2. And Dayt O/L easy 280# across, always better than Crosby on special teams(non Stat category)

I highly doubt we see anything like Crosby's Dline again. And it wasn't the fact they were just bigger...Crosby was tenacious, physical and mean. Comparable dline I have watched this year was Katy's vs Kingwood.

Humble had no answer to it, because we had severe limitations on offense. We couldn't punish there over aggressive play, because we just didn't have time to setup the simplest screen. Not to mention that the Crosby LB Corps is very good. We may not be very good on offense, but a good bit of our inability to do anything came because Crosby just executed very well. RB's like Terio Brown, typically get their yards regardless who they play, and all though he is just a pup...I was very impressed with how they removed him from our play book and rendered us inept....he is essentially the lynch pin in a very simple offensive scheme. It will be Dayton's test to do that to us.....stop terio brown, and we don't have the keys to drive our ford focus....
  3. Dayton 35 humble 19. Two TDs more than Crosby did. Using coog14 non logic thinking. Dayton out scores Crosby with same played opponents.

Is there any film out there on this Dayton team?   I find it hard to believe that 35 points are going to get hung on Humble, especially from a team that had a lot of trouble last year moving the ball against essentially the same Defense last year .

I know that the Humble Defense has improved over last year, and so i guess the question is....how much did the Dayton Offense improve going into this year?

  4. You have my respect on run defense  not sure if Crosby's pass game tested you much half the time Crosby's QB was throwing up Hail Marries for anybody to grab and when he did connect  with a receiver they dropped it. Dayton's pass game will be a lot more prolific than Crosby's  we'll see what happens next Friday . Better bring  your "A" game on offense unless your "King" we will put more than 17 on the board!

Humble's Pass defense is every bit as good as our run defense.    Humble leads the district in interceptions, and if you go back and watch our film...last year and this year, you will see that we play solid coverage.    Crosby pound for pound probably has the best secondary, but Humble secondary arguably just as good.

Humble  has 8 INT's on the season....Tyler Osborn leads the district with 4.

If these stats are correct on the Chronicle .. Crosby completely dominated this game. Humble only has 90 total yards LOL.. Looks like Crosby just kept shooting there self in the foot to me with 118 yards in penalties.

Yes.  nothing good about Humble at all.   Only reason why Crosby didn't score 100 points on Humble was because they made mistakes...because Mistakes aren't part of the game.

    lol.

Ive watched a lot of football, and im telling you.... you don't hold a team to 7 yards in the first half, and only be up 7 points, unless you are going up against a stout defense.   But hey I guess Humble will just have to go earn respect from Dayton and BH fans when those match ups occur.

  6. I think Crosby just ran into an incomplete team, that happen to have a very good defense. Generally, what you see is a team with a stellar offense and no defense...it's the opposite for Humble. That being said, no credit should be taken away from the Crosby defense. I watched their film against Angelton, Nederland, and I was there last night....that defense is stellar. We had no shot to win this game unless our defense created turnovers for us to better our field position.

Of course both these teams are beatable, everyteam is beatable. But Crosby is probably gonna cruise to an undefeated season lest ce king proves to be too much. But ce king hasn't played anyone with a defense this year, so we shall see.

Humble should be favored against Dayton or BH as of right now, however because they are so vulnerable on offense...they could lose to either.

Just a side note, The head coach for Humble Charles West, was out last night and will be for out until further notice. What I have been told is that he is in the hospital, don't know for what...but if y'all could keep him in y'all's prayers...
  7. This, like most games will come down to turnovers.    That will determine the scope of how close this game is.

Humble has done a very good job the last three game of creating turnovers, But the Humble Offense has done a pretty good job of turning over the ball themselves.    If Crosby is mistake free, and Humble sloppy on offense...then this will get ugly really fast.

If Humble can win the turnover margin, this game is close . Not sure if its enough to win, but certainly enough to give them a shot.

  8. truth be told...this game is happening a week earlier than i would like it too.    Would much prefer to play Dayton this week.

Humble has progressed offensively every game, improving on what they do best and adding to their capabilities.   However, i feel like we still need a week or so to get that locked down.   I think Humble, offensively looks a lot like CE King looked last year.   Capable, but sloppy.    Defensively, Humble is pretty good.

Humble will have to play their best and error free game just to have a shot at this.   ill give them the benefit of the doubt that they play mistake free, but Crosby is too much.   24-14 Crosby.

  9. My take on Humble is that their Defense is salty as they come.  Their offense has enough talent on it to be dangerous, but is far from consistent.   The two games i did watch, the biggest concern i had was the inconsistency of the Passing game.   That coupled with them not giving Terio Brown enough carries....kid needs to be getting 20 touches at the very minimum.  Ill be interested to see what the stats look like for this win.

Good win.   Step in the right direction.   They will have their hands full next week though.

  10. I heard that Humble was going to have a good team this year, seems like that may be true.

I wouldn't say they are "good".   They still don't have a viable passing game, and in the playoffs...thats pretty much a one and done or at best two deep.

RB Terio Brown though...is the real deal.   If he gets some height, he is a D1 back.    Still only a sophomore.

Humble has to get better on offense before ill give them a "good" title.

  11. I thought the O-Line did... Ok in pass protection. I have to give props to Dickinson's secondary, they played very tight (I don't even think Sharp would have had too much success, much less Bean). The biggest gripe I have was the numerous false starts that just killed any momentum we built on several drives. As for the defense, we have a glaring problem with pass defense. I mean GLARING. Our DB's have little to no trouble pursuing a ball carrier coming out of the backfield and make the open field tackle but as soon as they see that ball go through the air its like they forget how to pursue. Pass rushers aren't helping them out either though. Setting those things aside, had they played this game more like last week (as in, actually executed), they probably would have won by a score or two. That pretty much does it for my rant.

OL was for a lack a better term, uninspiring.  Bean, while promising prospect, holds onto the ball longer than sharp.

In my opinion, this was a case of getting worn down.  They looked gassed. They looked overmatched, especially upfront (DL)...where i thought the gators played pretty good.

Pasadena memorial was TERRIBLE.   SC beat them by athletic superiority alone.  That was very evident, Pasadena Memorial was out gunned at every position.   I was honestly surprised they looked so bad.

  12. Definitely a rebuild year for SC. a lot of rookie mistakes, and some discipline problems. There were some flashes of the previous years. But SC has a long way to go.

Summer Creek was the benefactor of a lot of good fortune, and balls bouncing their way to give off the appearance of them being "good".  However in 6a, they will not get that sort of luck.  They will face teams that are bigger, faster, and more experienced.

SC got to draw from Humble HS, after their unacceptable rating

SC got the added benefit of being the new shiny school

SC drew a weaker than normal 19-4a

SC had the benefit of higher enrollment numbers. (which means a bigger staff to coach your kids)

Like i said last year, perhaps on this site maybe not, they were going to get whipped around a good share this year.   Dickinson is a good program, but they are not better than Kingwood, Atascocita, or The Woodlands as it stands right now.      I wish them the best of luck, as they are my 6a team, but they are not ready for what is coming.    They by no means are like  Manvel in their jump upwards.

  13. 1. Humble has 1600 kids.  That maybe generous.

    2. Humble ISD needs a new high school like Randy Travis needs another DUI.

Humble ISD is growing, and it is growing fast.... But this push to build more schools is asinine.    You have schools that aren't being used to capacity, and improvements to expand capacity are not even being looked into at the moment.    Its just the powers of HISD rubbing their greedy little hands together to line the pockets of these builders.  Someone is getting kickbacks.....and i wouldn't be surprised if someone goes to jail in the next 5-10 years over it.

  14. I heard that Louisiana will not be part of this anymore.  To become an East vs West greater Houston area game.  Anybody heard that?

    This is correct.

These games were silly anyway.   The best players that both the GHA and Louisiana had to offer never played in the game.   I also felt it was  a bit disingenuous.   This was always a Houston Metro area players vs the entire state of louisiana.    Made it hard for them to coordinate a selection, and get all of them to come and practice for a week from a logistical standpoint.    Texas always had the advantage in that it was always in Texas, and all the players came from primarily a 10 county area
