Congrats to Warren JV for clinching the district championship last night with a 36 to 22 victory over Kirbyville.  Only blemish in district was a 14 to 14 tie against Kountze.  There is hope for Warren football!!!

There is no reason we shouldn't compete.  We have the ingredients physically just need to work on it mentally.  Babin is working on that.  The kids themselves need to start believing!

I'm sure Warren is in a transition this year and will be in a much better place in the next couple of years to come. Folks in Warren just need to stay the course with a very capable coach and things will turn around...understand I say that and I hope for the same in Kountze, because we are in the early stages of an about face. I feel ya pain in other words!

Because it's the truth? Can you expect a team that went 2-8 last year to come in and compete with two of the top teams in the state the very next year? With a new coach? And new offensive and defensive schemes? It just doesn't happen. I think anyone who saw us last year and has seen us to this point this year would agree that we are much better. From a program aspect for sure. No, I'm sorry to disappoint you, we aren't one of the top teams in the state yet. May not ever be. But when you look at the development of a HIGH SCHOOL football program, you look at much more than simply what goes on between the whistles. You look at whether or not the kids believe in it, you look at how the program develops them as players AND as men, you look at the attitude and energy level of the coaching staff, etc. There are so many things that go into developing a successful program aside from wins and losses. Especially in the first year with a new coaching staff and completely different way of doing things.

Waldie has done an A+ job in my opinion, being able to see the development of the program through multiple aspects. No, it's not where we want it to be quite yet. I don't think any realistic person expected it to be. But these kids are buying into the system and the community is FINALLY supporting these kids the way we've been dying to happen the last fifteen years.

I haven't thought of that. They may need an early holiday meal!

Tired of looking at game camera pictures.  Ready to see it live.  I will be there at first light but ready to go probably an hour later when I can't take the sweating any longer.  Can't enjoy hunting that much when sweating severly.

WTB I was looking back and saw that you were referring to Babin being 33 and not talking about our #33. My bad.  Babin's football age is definetly higher.  He and the kids respond well to each other and that is key.

I like Chester86's way of thinking.  It could happen!

Simple "no dog in the fight" prediction:
1) Buna,
2) Kirbyville,
3) Kountze,
4) Warren.
Warren the underdog story that starts slow and gets it rolling late. Man EC is always a powerhouse, and I think any of the above mentioned teams could land in the playoffs.

Babin has us running what we need to be running. He is a great coach. #33 is just a Junior and is a stud.
