    lol, really... Hardin... I watched the HUDL highlights, didn't see any college types. One kid kept making some good tackles, but they were 10 yards down field...

    I like it, "4 Horseman" baby!! HD Nation! This group of young men are super talented. Hardin maybe technically 2 classifications bigger as a 3A D-1, but HD has some young studs. Those young Bobcats took a beating last year as Freshman, from one of the toughest 2A districts in State. San Augustine, Groveton, Shelbyville etc. Those youngsters are a year older and more mature, I look for big things as they get more seasoned. QB, RB's and WR are stacked at HD. I talked to a long time football Coach yesterday from the area, he said HD has one of the most talented group of skilled players in the area. I look for a competitive game between the 2A D-2 Bobcats and 3A D-1 Hornets.

I believe Hardin will out depth them. Hardin has a massive D-Line with a hoss at nose guard. I don’t think it will be to close, but the cats won’t go down without a fight. It’s always an exciting game no matter what!

    HD starting RB Devonte Broussard broke a long TD in the 1st part. HD sit out 5 starters, to get them 100% for next weeks game, including HD's best player Bryce Aguirre. If it was a regular game, HD smokes Colmesneil like usual. Trust me, it was frustrating seeing our studs on the sideline not playing, but I get it. And if yall know Coach Hodges, he don't want his top players on film.

    Was it foolish of Coach Hodges to hold out hope until so late in the game?  Maybe.  But then I could never understand the circumstances.  I have no children of my own and I grew up  is a household with parents who have now been married for over 50 years. 

    As to Coach Wallace, I think you are underestimating his skills, he had been Coach Hodges' right hand man since he got there and possesses plenty of football knowledge.  Simply because the Bobcats had a less then successful year doesn't mean that Coach Wallace was not qualified for the job.

    You are entitled to your opinion but I would point out that over the last several years, Hull-Daisetta has run off a number of decent coaches.  You don't want to gain a reputation like the one you are earning by starting a topic like this.

    For the record, HD has only had 3 coaches since 2007, Slack, Finney and Hodges. And Finney left on his own, Hodges is still here. Not sure where you got the “HD has ran off a number of decent coaches”... As far as this topic, I respect Hodges, he was my high school football  coach, I respect Wallace, he is well liked by the athletes, both are good men. As far as the bad season, yes it has to be fixed, yes part of being professional is to be held accountable. Both coaches are knowledgeable, and both will be successful in the future, the issue is where the HD culture currently sits... It’s the whole ball of wax people have to look at, HD is at a fork in the road, it could possibly take some major changes and moves, to fix... The good news is HD has some very talented young JH kids, that dominated the competition,  just a few seasons ago, they were freshman this year. Bad news is HD’s football participation is declining at a rapid pace. The last Coach to come in and have a surging impact on participation was Finney, we need that fire and energy again. I support whatever is best for the student athletes and my school, as I am a 5th generation Bobcat. HD Nation!

  17. Hull-Daisetta vs West Hardin (The Rivalry)

    Hull-Daisetta and West Hardin (Saratoga) 1st played each other 95 years ago, way back in 1924... The two small country towns are only 7 miles apart, and man can the game between the teams get heated. After the game, we are all friends and some even family, back to the norm. Who wins this one? WH has everyone back on both sides of the ball, HD has a bunch of athletic freshman starting this season. Should be a good game, HD holds the overall series lead 41-9.

    Agreed, and I don’t see anyone getting excited... That would be like poor Hardin, getting excited for scheduling a homecoming game the 1st game of the year, vs a historically bad program and getting the win, oh they just did that lmao...
