In football and baseball I was counting on those as wins. In basketball well we all know those are losses. 
I enjoyed coming home even on trips I knew it was going to be a long night. I would go tomorrow if I didn't have deadlines to meet.
Maybe the new school will get some of the kids that aren't playing to tryout. When my brother was at west brook he said the best athletes were walking the halls instead of playing. A good coach and culture can be the start of good things.
For football its a quantum leap in competition to jump to 6A.  Even talent rich Port Arthur struggled in its last few years. I think the basketball team will be competitive quickly.
I wish the the new school nothing but the best.

This won't make you feel good. Livingston freshmen stomped both schools. It could be ugly.

I kid too soon.  The Mustangs decided to fight tonight and are giving Silsbee fits. Maybe its a better game than anticipated on Friday

I don't think much of WOS ball these days and from what I remember of Orangefield when. I lived out here it wasn't good. 
Yes I believe Orangefield should have won. Good for their improvement but that just shows how far the Mustangs have fallen. For the poster to insinuate WOS would give Silsbee a better game than LCM is ludicrous.

That's hilarious. They barely beat Orangefield. LCM ain't losing to the Mustangs. Silsbee vs WOS is closer to scalpers night off than a competitive game

Silsbee wasn't the cleanest team last year.  They seem to be a better team this year. I'm ad they won state and I'm pulling for them this year.
For the record I'm nobody's boy. I wouldn't use that term in 2018 to refer to grown men, especially toward African American men. I'm sure its tongue and cheek. But I wouldn't use it for future reference. Those could be considered fighting words.
 
 
 

I don't believe in moral victories but that's a good effort by LCM. That will probably be the closest anyone gets to Silsbee until the region 3 tournament in Huntsville.

I'm just gonna have to disagree with you about people missing their schools. If this happened in your community, even if it was the result of mismanagement you would be sad.  
Yes had the bond been managed better Central would probably be here. This may well be the best decision but that doesn't mean the community has to like it or shouldn't mourn.
Put it like this. If the doctor told you its amputate both legs or die. You amputate your legs but you're not happy about it at that moment. 
Ozen may be 20 years old but they have plenty of state championships and memories for those that attended. Their alumni should be proud. 
Both schools will be missed. If you can't understand that, there's no hope for you.

Just because it may be the right decision, and that can be a legitimate debate, doesn't mean this isn't a sad day.  A lot of people have attachments to both schools. In a lot of ways your school is a family.  I believe they have every right to be sad and upset. All us outsiders should allow it and give the Jags and Panthers their space to grieve.
They're going to have to find a new identity and that's going to take time. I wish them all the best.

This is sad for the kids and alums of both schools. As for the BOM making the decision, the last set of elected board were running the district in the ground. This time there's no South Park ISD to save BISD like there was in the 80s.
I think the BOM has for the most part done a good job of righting the ship. And while I think the community should get its district back please don't re elect the people that put you in this spot in first place. I saw a few of the old suspects won election after being kicked to the curb.
Had the old board done their job BISD may have been able to fix or build a new central. Instead the taxpayers and children were robbed.

Just heard about the merger. I'm sad this is the last year for Ozen and Central. Just when the district was showing that it was getting better. 2019 would have been great now that Vidor and PNG are playing decent basketball. Outside of the games we play them, I wish both Central and Ozen the very best in their final seasons. They have a fan in me.

I spent some significant time in Iron Mountain Michigan for a few winters. The high would be -10. Its not the snow. You can clear that out no problem and people have snow tires to handle what falls on the ground.But when it rains or up there when it gets above freezing for a few hours it turns the slush and melt water into black ice. Nobody drives on that. Its dangerous.
For an event that only happens once or twice a decade its alright to be a little cautious. We're not used to this stuff.
As for the rain that's just a few minutes or a few hours (hurricanes notwithstanding) so that's not even a good analogy.
Look at the bright side we'll be in the 70s this weekend. And we may get two straight days of basketball. Its a win in my book.

Glad y'all got back on track. Outside of Silsbee it should be smooth sailing into the playoffs.Go Bears!

97 45 central final. I like Central's squad. They should have scored at least 120.

HJ was tough tonight. They will be dangerous in the playoffs.
If that's the best LCM can do Silsbee will roll them in district and it will be a short stay in the playoffs. They bottled up the main threat for most of the second half and couldn't convert.

I've been to both and I got what I wanted out of each visit a good away to watch the game. Actually it was easier to get a good seat at NRG.  Sorry you had a bad experience at NRG but its a very good spot for all the events it holds including what it was built for. Football.
Might I ask. What was so bad?  If the stadium up north didn't have a star on it I'm not so sure everyone would be so awed by it.  I've been to plenty of NFL stadiums. They're all the same once you take a seat.
