  1. It's so sad to see what has happened to the softball program. Just a few years ago it was an up and coming team that should have won a national tournament title. If they violated the players rights by not allowing her to eat according to her religion, that's wrong and the head coach should have tried to make amends rsther than kick her off the team. The administration seems to have handled this poorly and has doubled down since lawyers have got involved. I know it doesn't attract tons of fan, but it's an embarrassment and probably makes it harder to hire a decent coach. And it doesn't inspire confidence in would be recruits to see how coaches and admins handled one of their players. I wish the team the best in sorting this out.
  2. Go look at the schedule. They should be at or above 500 this year.
  3. Only three more years of defending Livingston and I can go back down bear path on a full time basis. I think the lions are going to surprise outside observers.
  4. The board asked parents what they wanted and experience and success were high on the list. I dont like that they didn't buy out the former coach after the season ended but on paper this hire looks good. He's had success at various levels. The fact he took a new high school and made the playoffs at the highest level shows he can build a program. I think the kids will turn out. They're excited to play schools their size and smaller. And they're ready to start winning.
  5. I think 21-5a will make it interesting. What sad is next year very good teams will be stuck at home because its going to be one of the toughest districts in state. Glad to be moving down. But sad we never got to compete in 21 5a. Your schools are much closer than Beaumont. Good luck.
  6. 22-5a takes 3 of the four series. If Lumberton can get good pitching and some timely offense it's a sweep
  7. The community supports the team. It's always a full house. And never an empty seat. They tailgate before the games. So unless you're definion of support is different than mine they are supported. Now if we're talking about success in boys sports that's been non existent for the last few years. That's gotta change. I wish they made the move in November but here we are having to fight it out with Bc for whatever left of football coaches. Sorry y'all lost your coach. He seemed to be a guy that could be there for the long haul.
  8. Nope. School owns it.
  9. Old rv people will shoot it down. Trust me it's been tried. They vote to fix the schools but won't raise taxes for sports. Hence the run around on building new facility out of petty cash.
  10. I've been by. It looks great! I'm so proud for LCM. May it stand another 40 years. But the Grove isn't better than our gym. I say this as an LCM alum. Geaux Bears.
  11. Ive been by. Its nice. But the Grove isn't better than our gym. I'm glad they rebuilt LCM. And I'm proud of the job that was done. May it last another 40 years. Geaux Bears. Am I happy with the athletic department and the success it's had. It could be better. The girls are highly successful and the boys will be better. As for the turf; ain't nothing better than grass if you can grow it. At the end of the day if my tax dollars have to go-to something I'd rather it go to the school books and teacher instead of Athletics.. The schools in the golden triangle are falling apart. Build new schools. And our gym is top notch. Honestly none of kids are going pro so I'd rather they have a great school to attend.
  12. The schools in the golden triangle are falling apart. Build new schools. Our gym is top notch. The softball and baseball complex is great. And they're building a new track and soccer stadium. With one of the largest rv clubs in the country located in town the old folks will never vote for a new football stadium. So you go around and piecemeal things together. Honestly none of kids are going pro so I'd rather they have a great school to attend.
  13. It's just Lions Stadium. Moseley has his jersey retired that's it. As far as the stadium, yeah the visitor's side sucks but on the home side we have nice new restrooms and concession stands. Visitor's shouldn't be made to feel comfortable anyway. It's part of home field advantage. If the choice is a new 20-30 million dollar stadium or nice schools, give me the nice schools any day. I only go the stadium 4-5 times a year so I don't think it'll hurt to sit through one game every other year. Meanwhile my kids have to be in school 180 days. And the majority of kids don't play football. I hate the bashing but truth be told Livingston's facilities are better than it's former and future district mates hands down outside of football.
  14. Port Arthur's jv would have made the playoffs and beat the brakes off Nederland. They would have given Ozen and Central a decent game. Nederland ain't beating Memorial next season.
  15. That's a lot. I don't think every team should be guaranteed a player on one of the teams. I'd rather it be like all NBA five picks for each team and a few superlatives. But the superlatives have to be on one of the teams. That said congrats to everyone that earned a nod.
  16. Can someone explain why there's no outcry about the dude pretending to be president said he would take away guns without due process? Maybe you need to vote him out of office in 2020. So you can keep your guns.
  17. Yes Nome residents are zoned to HJ. I enjoyed every minute of that beat down. The tears in the crowd nourished me. That said. SFA is the best chance to get a good tournament seed.
  18. Few close calls no dice Huntington has played well.
  19. 25-5 PA Q1 I must be suffering from Stockholm syndrome. Sr. Night in Port Arthur.
  20. 79-49 Barbers Hill final
  21. Vidor is a much improved team this year. No matter how this shakes out the Pirates should be proud. They have a good foundation to add on to next season.
  22. 73-31 Nederland final.
