  1. This right here. This alone makes it hard for me to want Hardin to win anything at all this year. Of course, to hope for an 0'fer would be punishing kids for the mistakes of adults so I really can't do that. Haynes won't win anymore games than Stark would have won and this will end up with Haynes re-retiring after year 2 of this experiment. Back to the drawing board for the Hornets.
  2. Finally a Crosby poster with some sense. Cotton was a great QB and Howard has a long way to go to get to that level. Who do you think QB'd the team that made that state semifinal run? It certainly wasn't Howard. To date Howard has won nothing but the hype trophy that is given out each year in Crosby. One place where we would disagree is on the deep ball. While Cotton certainly had his issues in that area, Howard does too. I see him consistently underthrowing open receivers and causing them to have to stop their routes and come back for the ball. Kinda tired of this argument, might just wait until Saturday to talk more.
  3. Oh I'll be here and I stand by everything I've said.
  4. You think he's a better pure passer than Tristan Cotton?
  5. it is my opinion that every stadium that is not in use per week should be available for any of these displaced teams. As far as equipment goes, if the equipment was ruined, have any vendors been contacted about potential donating equipment to these teams? What about the Texans? I've heard of NFL teams donating old equipment for these types of scenarios. It makes me very sad to think about teams not being able to play this season. If there is a way, we should all bend over backward to get these kids on the field.
  6. Perfect. Thanks a lot Mike. This site is a great resource to keep all of us who have moved out of the GT connected with what's happening back at home. Will you be on the broadcast?
  7. I have a million dollars that says he's here somewhere....lol And before you ask, he is not me.
  8. I stand by my statements and will be here on Saturday to remind you of what I said. I have seen this team plenty of times and have never been really impressed. They tend to dry up under pressure and that is why the second round is a black hole for Crosby. This Jasper team is no joke and Crosby will be in for a fight on Friday. Finesse teams usually don't do too well in dog fights and this will be one for sure. In other news, will this game be available to be streamed online? I know there is a radio broadcast, but will internet broadcast be available?
  9. Don't be surprised when Jasper wins this one. Despite the hype, Crosby is only a shell of what they have been the past couple of years. The RB is solid, but everything else is suspect. The QB has yet to prove he can actually play and the receiver that was mentioned is just a decent player. These guys have proven over the years to be nothing more than weight room heroes. They run fast on the track, they utilize social media to make sure everyone thinks they're special, and they play cheesy videos at their home games to try and create a college-like atmosphere. As far as the substance on the football field, it's often pretty average. Crosby has never proven that they can play any defense at all and that is what will get them beat on Friday. I think Jasper will punch them in the mouth and run the ball for as much as they want whenever they want it. I think this unproven Crosby offense will prove to be anemic in the passing game allowing Jasper to stack the box and contain the RB. If you force the QB to throw, you will quickly learn that he cannot do it. Jasper wins by a touchdown and sets Crosby up to have a 6-4 year.
  10. One of the top three jobs in the nation and no one can argue that if Texas wins a very winnable big 12, they will always be in the college football playoff.
  11. Don't underestimate the impact that Brian Barbay will have on that Jasper offense. His move from Newton to Jasper could be a huge difference maker for the bulldogs.
  12. What other offers? When UT calls, you answer. He has a chance to play for one of the premier programs in the nation, under one of the premier coaches in the nation. This is a no brainer and I look forward to cheering for this kid for the next 6 years or so!
  13. If I were a coach or teacher, I wouldn't touch Kirbyville with a 10 foot pole right now.
  14. I thought that was what was happening!!! Great to hear!
  15. Kirkland? You mean the guy the fine members of the Jasper community cussed at as he left the field a few years ago after losing a hard fought game in the playoffs? Coach Kirkland is doing fine and is better off out of Jasper, but unfortunately you are still there. Coach Barbay has it under control, if he needs poorly worded and spelled opinions I am sure he will reach out to you.
  16. If that's the case, then why did he take the job in the first place? Nothing you mentioned is the fault of the kids there who undoubtedly are gutted that their coach chose to leave them in the lurch. No matter who they hire this late, they will get the short end of the stick during the upcoming season. You can't defend Dale here. If the money is an issue, wait until next year or leave in March like everyone else. Do not leave in July!
  17. Yes he did. As I said earlier in this thread, to leave this late for an assistants gig is garbage. He did this same thing to Kountze once. No one should hire this man for a head job ever again!
  18. Hurry up and hire Deweyville! You've obviously already got your guy.
  19. Neece would be a steal, but I can't see him up rooting this late in the year. If he sits out a year, he can pick his small school job next offseason.
  20. Has to be someone on staff....or a hometown guy.
