  1. I am baiting because I remember how you guys ran Don Price out of town several years ago after he had proven to be successful and win plenty of games. Please see the comment I quote below that illustrates my point. Who in the world does this person think BH is going to hire who will "pick up the bill with W's"? From where will you lure a bigger fish than TW to come to BH and take advantage of the "resources and facilities"? You plucked a multi time 6A state championship winning coach from the largest school in the state and you guys still think there is a bigger fish that you can lure to MONT BELVIEU???? It's ridiculous.
  2. There's no way they will run this guy out of town. There are a few people in that town, who think they are powerful, who think Mr. Haynes is Hal Mumme!
  3. Man, someone must've coached at Huntington before moving on to his JV gig. All that aside, If the community doesn't care about football, then why would they care enough to run coaches out of town? These guys are taking this job and leaving at the first sign of greener pastures and in doing so they are crippling any chance Huntington has to every build a program. It will take someone who actually wants to be there to turn the thing around.
  4. No one can argue with the track record of reloading at WOS, but it's hard for me to expect it simply based on history. I hope you are right because I love celebrating with the Mustangs in Arlington!!
  5. Brother, those are thriving programs at every small school in Texas. FFA and rodeo aren't the issues in Huntington, otherwise lots of schools would be in trouble. The issue is the Jimmys and Joes. There simply aren't any players there and there aren't any players there because no one has ever stayed around there long enough to build a program. It will never get better until a coach invests.
  6. How long until the BH faithful start to call for Westerberg's head? Just an FYI, I think they'd be crazy to do that, just curious when it will start.
  7. Insert Jim Mora..."Playoffs?"
  8. Say what?
  9. I'm not sure about that. This WOS team hasn't been tested yet and we would be crazy to think that they can just lose the level of players they lost last year and not miss a beat. I think it's closer than expected.....I'll go WOS 24 Silsbee 21
  10. The type of remediation they are looking at would take months to complete. If it even takes one month, doesn't that wipe out the season for the jaguars? Can Central HS be blended between WB and Ozen and still be able to compete for Central? Lots of questions.
  11. Dumb question here, but what does this mean for the football program? Is it over?
  12. The bigger question surrounds the culture in Silsbee. It seems that every year there is something like this that happens within that athletic program. Jasper fight, LCM fight, this situation.....what's going on over there and how did it get like this?
  13. Who is that?
  14. Coaches won't stick their neck out to apply for a job that was most recently awarded to a guy running a pipe yard.
  15. I wish Dayton the best, but I fear this is the end. There are no Stewarts walking through that door.
  16. Splendora wins this one and begins the end of the Nations era in Dayton.
  17. There is such a different feeling surrounding this game this year compared to last year. Two communities that are trying to get back on their feet needing a 3 hour respite from the work and worry.
  18. Perfect strategy for HD: Begin the game by throwing several basketballs out on the field before kickoff. Joubert and his team will get confused and line up in a 2-3 zone rather than a 4-3 defense. This will allow HD to score quickly and take advantage of the situation, possibly giving them an edge. Genius!
  19. Absolutely no pun intended. Heck, I have to admit that I have given thought to moving my boys. I can get to work from anywhere! lol
  20. LOL!!! I'm just having some fun. Glad to see that some of us on here can jibber jabber and still keep it light hearted! In all seriousness though, with their facilities, funding, and big time coaching hires, BH will soon begin to turn the tide. I truly believe that the flood gates will open and kids will begin to come from all around to be a part of the program. A lot like we see with Aledo and the likes in DFW. BH is the only school in our area that resembled DFW in that way.
  21. It probably won't be long until we can do that. The BH program in on an upward trajectory and I except to hear about more and more "move ins" from Baytown and the surround areas over the next several years.
  22. I am not sure I agree with all of that. I was sure that Joubert would get interest up and get the athletes out for Friday night football in Kountze. Seems like that hasn't happened and the experiment has turned sour. It's time for him to make a full time return to the hardwood and get a football coach hired there in Kountze.
  23. I loved it when Tony Dallas would interact with everyone here last season. It made it that much easier to root for Jack because of his dad!
