I have seen a play where a team incurred a safety from inside the opposing red zone. Team A fumbled the ball around Team B's 10 yard line. Team B picked up the fumble and returned it for an apparent touchdown. Right before the player crossed the goal line, a player from Team A stripped the ball. The same player from Team A then picked up the fumble and commenced running the ball back. In trying to avoid a tackle, he crossed back into his own end zone and was later tackled in the end zone. Safety. It can happen.

Bad breaks and referees cost us second place. We have 2 chances (this Friday and next Friday  :)), but the odds don't look favorable.

I was also at the Plano/PNG game, and the Hous Kashmere/PNG game 1977. I was at the Stephenville/PNG game in 1999, which followed the Garland/Katy game. We got to the Astrodome at 10:30am when the doors opened just so we would get a good seat for the PNG game following the Garland/Katy game. Garland was on the same side that PNG would be on, so we sat on their side (even though I was pulling for Katy). The Garland fans started showing up around 11:30am and found they had to sit on the 20's to the endzones because of the sea of purple in "their" seats. They were not a happy crowd about that. But they defeated Katy, which probably prevented a riot.

HF for this year: Led Zeppelin's "Dazed And Confused".

I've been going to all of the Hamshire-Fannett games all my life (even this year...and it's been a long year). I'll be at all of them next year. Once HF is no longer in the playoffs (when they make it), I go to PNG playoff games. If they're not in it, I go to Nederland games. If all three are out, I usually just pick on a whim. It's usually WOS or Newton because by the time the other three are out, they are usually the two that are still in. I used to travel some to see out of area teams, including Odessa Permian twice (in Odessa at Ratliff Stadium). I've seen a lot of the Houston, Dallas and CenTex teams, but for the last few years I've just went to HF games and a few SETex playoff games. I'll be at the PNG game come Wk11, Wk12, Wk13, Wk14, Wk15 and Wk16.

Although Tarver was one of the best coaches HF's ever had, I would put Les Koenig Sr and Phil Danaher ahead of him. Of course, that's my opinion and I mean no disrespect to the job Claude did.

Better enjoy that hunt, because Cass Sustrein was approved. So the next animal you kill, even the mosquito buzzing around your head, will have a government assigned lawyer.
