Here is a reply from a coach who played Bridge City in the playoffs prior to CS playing them. I would say it was pretty accurate. This is copied word for word prior to the game.

"They try to make things happen and put pressure on you. The players, their fans, and their coaches are very mouthy and disrespectful. They will try to get your players fired up about stupid things".

It's not exactly what I want being said about my team.

LOL. Where exactly is this copied then pasted from? Sounds like the coach may have been a little upset about getting handed a loss. You know what they say, "pressure busts pipes" I love the style of play BC played with this year. Often times in HS baseball if you can continually put pressure on the other team you'll do very well and BC did that. A shame the way their season ended but the immediate future is very bright.

O ok, they have a picture going around on Fbook saying /showing them there..I didn't know so I was asking

I saw the picture. It was very obviously Bridge City's color guard or some type of dancers on the track dressed in their white uniforms and someone from the WOS side posted it and said "the KKK showed up" Pretty disrespectful IMO. Just goes to show one persons actions don't reflect a whole communities.

  3. I completely agree the Wing T/whatever you wanna call it is the best options for BC and teams like OF/Vidor. But you have to have another option if you get down. Nothing BC coulda tried would've worked vs WOS tonight regardless. I guess you live/die by the run if you're BC. BC's O-Line had gotten a lot of praise but was blown up tonight, no knock on them just WOS being dominant as usual.

Hunter Denton for Bridge City may have been the fastest guy on the field from what I hear though? Track wise at least.

I have argued this with my friends that are fans of other teams that do the same thing.  In my opinion if you run an offense like this, you are being very short sighted.  Sure you might go 8-2 but you have mortgaged the farm on winning some ball games and have put the ultimate prize out of reach.  My best friend growing up went to LCM and during the "good" years I would tell him as soon as they run into a team that can stop the run, the book is closed.  That was the mid to late 90s.  In 2000 WOS saw Friendswood and ultimately Ennis running more wide open offenses and it seems about that time that the offensive landscape as a whole has changed.  We have seen the more successful programs in the state have a spread or at least a more balanced attack (there are exceptions to the rule).

Anyway....just agreeing with your post.  I would like to see those teams cultivate their athletes talent to give them more of a chance.

Couldn't have said it better! Bridge City and teams with similar offenses will win some games and most likely make the playoffs but that's about it. Any time you run into an elite team like Carthage last year, WOS tonight there's zero hope. Dubois is a great coach but I just find it a must to have a more balanced attack if you ever wanna really make some noise. BC Quarterback has some pretty impressive tape as a passer from his sophomore year as the starting QB so I imagine it's there still.

  5. Not that BC had a chance in hell but I can't stand to see a team be so one dimensional. Have to be able to have a spread type formation also. Was my same problem with Stump and not running any power offense. BC will be ok and make the playoffs but the Wing T will only take you so far.

WOS is awesome and I'm not sure it's crazy to say they're the best team in all of Texas. Jack Dallas is great. Hats off to a great program.

  6. I keep seeing people thinking that the Bridge City player posted the picture on Twitter. It was sent in a message between BC kids then was somehow forwarded to a WOS player who then posted it on Twitter. Just wanted to clear that up for people confused. Who knows what is said in high schoolers messages, this one just happened to get out. The picture was completely inappropriate and disgusting no doubt about it. I just know how young kids are and will say anything to get a reaction. Not trying to bring light to the situation but I believe in second chances, not sure if the kid has had any trouble in the past. I was thinking it'd be more like a sincere apology and a lengthy suspension. Can't disagree with the decision though. Bad situation all around.

Hoping for a good, clean game.

  7. Those games in 04 and 05 were great games. The one in 2011 WOS only scores were on KR's I believe. BC had some special talent those years though. Johnny Dishon, Cody Sparks, Matt Menard, Cameron Dishon type guys.

Not sure the Wing-T will ever beat great teams like WOS though. Saw it vs Carthage last year. Also will Cayce Draper be back? That's a huge factor. Think BC will keep it respectable ish. WOS 35-14
