Have to try that next week will be in Shelbyville for 1 week. I have had the Trails End a couple of times and The Mexican restaurant in Center a few times. Most everything in Center I have tried.
I’m from Huxley. Owned the house across from Trials End for 8 years. Just sold and moved.

Watts and Watts BBQ across from McDonald's!
Pretty good. Sometimes it can be very greasy. She makes some kind of cake, that when she actually has it, is the best there is.

Mary Kay’s is a good option. Good food.

Mary Kay’s in SA is very good. Go through the Hwy 21 intersection and it’s about 1/4 mile on right. Can’t beat the chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken. That’s about your only option. They do have a place on th square, the Pinto Bean, or something likely that.
Not much besides that. Only other option would be stop in Jasper.

No outrage here just my opinion I could care less if you won 2-0 or 100-0. There are ways to prevent being blown out and yes defense is one of them. I remember beating Newton in 09 or 10 41-6 or 7 and the dogs were called off after the 1st quarter it could have been 100-6 or 7
I'm not for telling kids, who may be 3rd, 4th, or 5th string, and who have busted there butts all year long, practicing, with little playing time to lay down and not play hard because the other team gives up and don't play hard.
Usually in games like that, the other team quits. That's their problem and not the team scoring 70+ points.

whats the difference between that coach and PNG?? They leave the starter in to pad stats.
Answer your own question! When has PNG outscored anyone 83-0 and thrown for 11 td's? Good luck finding That!

Since his first year, 2009, PN-G defenses have given up an avg. of (23.3) points per game, including playoffs.
Thanks for answering. I thought it would be higher, and not that allowing 23.3 ppg is good, but thought it'd be higher.
You figure the better teams are much higher than that. Hard to always outscore teams.
I know high school offenses have evolved greatly in 15+ years, but that 99 team wasn't just Dustin Long, the Coburn's and Worsham. They played great defense back then as well.

Serious question, from an outsider looking in! Has PNG fielded a good defense since Faircloth has been there? Even during his 1st year, they were having to score 40+ points to win, in the playoffs anyways.
He seems to put a premium on offensive production, and having a legit defense it's not an importance to him.

oh and if yall THINK Tom Herman and the boosters gonna sit the current freshman QB that will be a junior when boy wonder shows up...YALL ALL SMOKING CRACK!! here's the truth and you heard it from me first. RJ gonna be catching passes from Ehlinger for two years OR he MIGHT see the field as a junior, if another qb don't grab hermans eye.
Good grief. You can't let it go. The kids a great QB, PAM lost, giving up 44 pts, and Harrison will be outcoached year after year. Stop with the blind hate.
RJ will redshirt at UT, and will be a redshirt freshman when Ehlinger is a senior, given that RJ sticks with UT and Ehlinger stays for his senior year.
Im sure your attitude would change greatly if Johnson's parents did him a great disservice and enrolled him into Memorial next year.

They won 83-0. If you want to call out a coach for running up the score, redirect your outrage from Newton to Bells HC! They were still chunking it after being up 50+, 60+, and 70+ points.

I will be attending that game.
I most likely will too. Should be a great game. Joaquin has a system that will give SA trouble.
-
The kid from WB is likely a better overall athlete and will be recruited as such.
RJ is a better QB. Wasn't that the premise of the question?

We here at SETXsports considers San Augustine as one of our teams. Been that way for years.
I see WO-S, Newton and SA in Arlington.
San Augustine has possibly the most athletic team in 2A D1, but not sold they have the coaching. Joaquin will be a test for them in a few weeks.
-
Not SETX, but close enough... San Augustine Wolves have a decent chance of playing into December as well.
-
No one can take anything you say seriously, when it's so painfully obvious that you are a homer, and worse a hater.
RJ would be the best QB to ever grace the halls of PAM, but you'll never admit that. But then again, he'd have Kenny Harrison coaching him, so he'd probably never reach his potential.
The only thing worse than XBox coaching the most talent in SETX is you commenting are some of these delusional Port Arhur fans whining about another loss.

If hardware is all that matters then Bridge City is top 5. I think not.
-
If the last 10-15 years is the gauge, then Kirbyville would be a top 5 program. They played for 2 state titles, and made it 3/4 rounds several other times.
Going back 30-40 years I'd have:
1A. WOS
1B. Newton
3. PNG
Nederland
West Brook
Jasper has had some great teams and probably the best talent in SE Texas yet has, IMO, underachieved.

When you don’t place an importance on defense, and don’t coach defense, you will always lose games you should win. PNG has no business losing this fame, rivalry or not, but was out schemed and our coached.
If Crosby’s Willams is healthy, he will have a huge game next week!
