*meaning Rio2 would keep teaching if he's not the OC. New OC might swing a sweet deal with no classes. Does the DC at Crosby teach?
-
Thanks for the info. I agree. A much better sounding title. I'd think he would keep teaching. Most recruiting coordinators across the state teach. Almost every program has somone who handles those things. Most just aren't as "publicized" as Mann always was. Not saying he didn't do a good job with it, he definitely did promote his kids well. Just saying most don't get to devote all their non athletic periods to recruiting/football planning.

According to coach Matthew Riordan's (brother of head coach Jeff Riordan) twitter, he is now the Recruiting Coordinator at Crosby. I believe he's been coaching wide receivers. Not sure if he was named OC, but my guess is yes. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

Was the last guy Athletic Director or Boys Coordinator?

Very true. The money is definitely there. But I still stand by the fact that it's a totally different atmosphere at AT&T vs Alamodome or Reliant. Been to state games at all 3 and there's no comparison.

Congratulations, Coach

Should it always be in DFW? Definitely not. But right now AT&T is head and shoulders a better venue than Reliant. And the Alamodome isn't even in the ballpark. That's a big part of the issue.

Very true. You can. But most still go ahead and post it. At least on their school district website if nothing else. Covers their rear that way.
-
No it doesn't. You are required by law to post it .
And my point wasn't that he had someone for sure. They said he just took the job so there wouldn't be a candidate yet. My point was that he would have been thinking about what he was going to do and talking to potential DC's long before it was "offical"

Considering that until 9:00 pm last night Coach Jehling was still officially an employee of Lumberton ISD, I don't know that any one candidate has arisen. However, I doubt that it will take Coach Babin long to get somebody in place.
I can promise you that Coach Babin has been thinking about his next DC since the minute he knew Jehling was applying for jobs. He may not can officially do anything until Jehling was hired, but every Head Coach in America is planning that out the minute they know it could happen.

Any wordif Mackey is staying on there? Guessing if he stays he'd be an assistant and Smith will have his own OC?

That would make sense since his family is from around there. Thanks for the info.

Stepp said on the old coach thread he's tryingto get backto dfw to be closer to home. Pretty sure he's from Lubbock...but I guess DFW is closer than Houston.
Know he was in the runningfor head job at Lubbock Estacado earlier this spring. Not sure what elses he's applied for. With Crosby's record the past few seasons, I'm suprised he wasn't gotten a HC job.

They planned to leave this year to get closer to the Central Texas area. I believe they both went to A&M and are from Shiner, TX. She had said they were going to leave after this group of seniors graduated. Have a little one now and want to be closer to family
Pretty sure he's from cameron

Unfortunately that is not the truth. Would have been nice if it was. Not saying he won't achieve his goals but this was a misstep. I am not going to say what happened because I wasn't there and it isn't my story to share, out of respect to mann and anyone else involved. But I do know it was not mann's decision to leave crosby, that is the truth
Heard same thing. Not his decision, but not sure in details. Not that it needs to be told on a sports forum anyway.
